What grease are you all using?

Ill hit a couple pumps pretty much every other time. The lower pins dry out quick.

What grease are you all using?

Whatever floats your boat. Just keep up with it. Especially lower loader pins if you have a loader. Personally, water proof, high tack Rural King's brand. Grease is double fold. keeps things flowed out clean and lubed.

    Hyd oil

True on the purpose. However if your oil is coking ever it is too hot.

Need grill but don't know year or model

Looks like a mid 90s Grand L-series. Look on the block behind the injection pump too. The engine size will help narrow it down.

    L4200 V2203 parts?

1-3 went in fine. Ring end gaps great at stock size. Must've had some carbon in #4 2nd ring grove. Cleaned too. And under fuel tank. I held ring compressor and wood to send it home. My wife didn't stop and a ring broke. Went ahead and ordered a piston and rings. Everything else is here...

    Compression coming out of intake

Not a ton of work yanking then head off tractors. Diesels usually have high compression, which means they are sort of interference engines. Wether it's parts, sticking, whatever it is, the valves generally strike the pistons. If turning by hand no big deal. If it's running, another story...

Hey NIW you seem very knowledgeable. Rings should be here today any idea what the ring end gap and side gap should be?

    L4200 V2203 parts?

Still await parts, bit wondering what specs are for the ring gaps? Compression is 23:1 so I'm sure there's alot of heat.

    G6200 injection pump

Forgot the metal on metal noise. Sorry. Something likely fell. Have it rebuilt. While it's out look at the injection pump cam as if anything fell it would hit that first. Afterwards probably in the oil pan and won't hurt anything. Might come out the drain might not. Have the shop let you...

    G6200 injection pump

If the delivery valves are even inadvertently turned It turns them away from the control rack. You may have to uninstall it and send it to a pump shop.... Same type as picture, correct? The rack in question is under the screwed in plate. It controls the rate of fuel delivery. Could try...

Annoying Newbie Questions Ahead: Please be Patient

I don't know about the PTO of that machine... The mid PTO and Rear PTO it sounds has a mechanical lever and on-off is on the switch. As for the lift if the engine is consistently changing note with the 3pt up it is running over relief. Small Kubotas have open center hydraulic systems, ie...

B8200 HST WILL NOT MOVE FORWARD WITH HOT OIL

Worth a shot. Just so you know though the hydrostat is independent of the hydraulic system. All the hydraulic pump does for the hydro is ensure it gets oil. Not pointing to anything. Low hours on an old machine denotes that a valve stuck somewhere is most likely. Finding it is difficult. I...

    B7200 crankshaft oil leak

By the illustrated parts list yes. The pressure of the pulley is all that holds it. Personally (wrenched on cars and equipment for years). If going to the trouble of the front seal I'd replace it, the seal, and the oring. At the least the belt, fan and the pulley need off. Pulling the...

    L4200 V2203 parts?

Oh and by the way while it's down, does this thing have hydraulic suction screen too or just the spin on? It's a GST if it makes a difference. I ordered parts BTW. Should be here end of this week or beginning of next.

    L4200 V2203 parts?

NIW I agree as Id replace them without question usually. Normally I'd yank the engine, replace the liners and pistons. Difference of a few hundred or thousands!

    L4200 V2203 parts?

I mic'd the cylinders and they're all fine. Honed them. Cleaned the head and deck and checked flatness of both and they're ok. Cleaned the pistons, filed the small bit of score on #4 above the top ring. other than the ring grooves. Mic'd them. ~1mm less than the cylinder. Put them in a...

    L4200 V2203 parts?

I've had my L4200 second hand for ~1.5 years it had 1xxx hours on it when I got it. Hard starting, smoking and oil slobbering out the blow by has only gotten worse since. Pulled the exhaust manifold and cyl 4 had oil out the exhaust port. Pulled the head, oil pan and pistons. #4 had a broken...

    L4200 GST Cable broke

Got it together. Needs adjustment but it got dark. The black sheath was ok, cable, a couple stops, cable adjustment bolt, a couple bolts and nu tr s and probably a good days work (after all the parts chasing). Grand total of about $20. Kubota can stick their 700 dollar assembly you know where🤪

    L4200 GST Cable broke

Been all over to find the cableadjuuster, mine was broke. I know its slotted, but no reason that won't work. I was putting the upper shifter together last night and one stripped (impact), got a couple grade 10 bolts and nuts. Not happening now! Used these cable clamps ground down and filled...
