Well when I got my ballast box it was pretty fugly. If I had my time back I would have built one from scratch but I decided to mod this one and to plug the holes I simply welded them over.

Just do what I do. Put the Kubota oil in it. Kubota knows best and if there's an issue down the road let them take care of it. If the machine has remaining warranty then it's only wise to use the manufactures oil anyway.

Well our BX would be pretty useless not to mention dangerous without a ballast box when using the FEL.
