Go to kubotabooks.com and look for the manuals (operator, service, etc) for his tractor. Download them and email to him. Problem solved. You can use a universal hydraulic/transmission fluid but if it is a hydrostatic unit I would go with Kubota UDT or SUDT2.

Northern tool has a nice kubota seat for $99. Got one for my b7200.

I say don't skimp on fluids, go with kubota UDT or SUDT2. I believe it only takes about 4 gallons, savings would be minimal. 5 gallons of UDT will run you under a hundred dollars. Hydrostatic transmissions can be picky when it comes to fluid.

Kubota is your best bet. They are not too incredibly expensive. I just picked one up from messicks and I think it was about 70 dollars. The used ones that came up were usually shot. The headlight bezel is another story it costs a pretty penny. Nate

I was able to download the manual. What I am having issue with is more power/ top end in reverse than in forward. I am going to work on it a bit tomorrow.

What are the symptoms of a HST pedal that is out of adjustment? Is it just "over run" when the tractor should be returning to neutral?

I think the pine straw rake may do the trick.

Where can you get the part numbers for the HST? I am looking for the PNs for the Forward and Reverse HST check valves. I have the downloaded the PNs from kubotabooks.com but the HST section has very little information. Messicks PN downloads have the same info. Anyone have the PNs?

If I am not mistaken kubota makes their own hydros. The charge pump might be a standard brand but the hst design is their own. On the viscosity improver, how much do you add? Will this harm seals?
