    My First Orange Tractor

And who hasn't climbed into the bucket do do SOMETHING? Be really careful around tractors - they can kill you dead! Be even more careful about kids, too. If you leave the tractor idling, they are sure to get on it, and into trouble. You'd hate to have to live with that the rest of your life...

    My First Orange Tractor

Welcome to OTT! Good choice! Make sure you fill the rear wheels and put plenty of ballast on the back before you load the bucket with shingles, climb in, and try to use it as a staging platform.... We all know you are NOT supposed to do things like that.

    Tiller- Reverse or forward?

I bought the Rotovator about 30 years ago - for a song - and it was old and worn then. I had to put a new set of blades on it - and many more since - but that is about all. I have about maybe a foot of soil, then hit granite. It is tough on blades, and machinery. I cannot say enough good...

    Tiller- Reverse or forward?

I used a Howard Rotovator on my L185DT for years. It is forward turning, and had a set of interchangeable gears to set its speed fast or slow. I always used it's fast, and usually made a pass in PTO-low, then PTO-high. It would turn a field into flour. The weight of the unit kept it well in...

New User with Question about L2850 Lower Link Attachment

I'd measure it, then take the picture down to the local Kubota dealer, Big R or tractor supply house and get whatever fits. Get a regular tractor pin - they are harder stuff than a dowel from Home depot. The pin should fit snugly - both the arm and the holes - but turn freely. It can be...

    Wheel width

I made dual wheels for my L185, which is pretty well the same tractor. In over 30 years it has not been a problem for the rear end! The overall width became 66". With single wheels I wouldn't go over about 60" however. The L245 came with adjustable wheel hubs. I would have thought their...

Does Kubota make accessory dolly for B2920 Backhoe or loader?

That is such a good idea it makes me feel dumb for not having it! All of my woodshop machines are on wheels... Judging from the pictures, you could build it yourself with some wheels from Harbor Freight and angle iron from Home Depot, probably for half the price or less. A welder would help...

    K650 Backhoe restore

Actually the picture makes it seem biger than it is. According to the manual, it has a 7-1/2' reach, and will dig a 6' deep trench. Think small. I've done the trench - it takes a bit of patience. But its lots easier than a shovel. The swing problem is when you stop it. A bucket full of...

Despite what I just said the other day about widening the stance of the front wheels - it did...

Despite what I just said the other day about widening the stance of the front wheels - it did not do well on the L185DT - I am interested to know how you have fared on the L3700, which is pretty close to the same as my new 3200. I do a fair amount of loader work; probably half the time I start...

    Reversing Front Wheels

:(I reversed the wheels on my L185DT twice, most recently about a year ago. I live on some hilly ground, with sparce grassy clumps for cover. Every time the front wheels hit a clump, they would JERK the steering wheel big time. Like trying to break your wrists. I have a steering wheel knob...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

    :)Nice job, Burt!

    3PTH Ballast Box

:)I used an either 22 or 27 gallon more or less rectangular plastic trash can - I think it was 22 gal. I cut it, and poked a drawbar through it, close to one end. I had half a dozen 5' pieces of re-bar that I put through the holes in the drawbar, the bent them around inside the bin. At one...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

We used the L3200 FEL to dig about 6 yards of good black dirt from the side of a hill, and move it a hundred yards or so to do some filling and landscaping. It is impressive watching the tractor creep up to a hillside, dig in, then walk away with a bucket heaped with dirt! No single trip seems...

    Auxiliary Light Wiring

:)I put two 55W lights on my L3200. I used the "work light" wiring and fuse supplied by Kubota. The wires are in the left rear fender where the wiring attaches to the rear lights. They are the unterminated brown-yellow pair - see photo. The work lights are on when the tractor is running...

    Anyone seen this canopy before??

Did you get it? Frankly it looks like a LOT better deal then the Kubota canopy I got. 1/4" poly is pretty heavy, unless you are charging through tree limbs. Let us know how it is, if you get it. Thanks, Gil

    K650 Backhoe restore

Over the weekend I decided to make my old K650 backhoe work on my new L3200. When I bought the L3200 I had the dealer give me a hydraulic port in the back, just for this. The old K650 was a pretty sorry excuse for a backhoe attachment. It is a 3PH implement. The 650 uses a PTO pump and...

    New Guy with some questions.

A couple of people on ebay are selling a CD of ALL the manuals for the L series tractors for about $7. I haqven't seen it, but it should be good. The BIG R has tractor seats about 1/2 the price of Kubota. They also just have covers. Welcome to OTT!!

    b7100 dual rear ag tires?

I put dualies on my 185 about 30 years ago. Pictures are in my album - click on my user name - I think. LOTS of stability, and LOTS of traction. I'm missing the traction on the new 3200, even with R4s. I never had a problem with the 185's drop axle units. I needed to add a 1" spacer, reverse...

    Ready to buy a tiller

I go along with Jefferson on this. I ran a 3-1/2 or 4' tiller behind my L185 for years without a problem. Being mostly dumb, I ran it in 2nd or high PTO speed after the 1st pass. Never had a problem. turned hillside into flour. Most of the neighbors had big FORD tractors with higher...

    B2710 and brush hog

I used a 5' bush hog on my L185DT for about 30 years. The tractor weighs about a ton, and had about 13 PTO horses. During that time I went through some creditable brush - once a 50' diameter wild rose bush about 12' high. I mostly did it in low-low, low PTO. I always felt if the tractor...
