    FEL Safety Boot

In order to get my tractor in the barn with the FEL and rear blade on it I have to pick up the FEL and drive it over my welder. For years I've been resting it on a 5-1/2' 6X6, stood on end. The 6X6 is forever in the way, when it isn't in use. I'm really liking this idea - I think I'll use...

    Box Blade

I've been using a rear blade for snow, for years. A few years ago I put a gauge wheel on the back, so I can suspend the rear blade between the gauge wheel and lift arms. Until everything is frozen and packed, I set the blade up about 2", so I don't move too much gravel. Then later on I lower...

    B2620 question

I have a Howard 42" Rotovator, that I bought years ago for my L185DT. It worked fine with the 185, and I could put the PTO in 3rd - 1000 RPM - and turn field into flour in low gear. I'm using it behind my L3200DT now, and noticed right away that the 540 rpm PTO speed leaves a much coarser cut...

    L35 backhoe surgury

Just make every weldment twice as beefy as you think you need, and don't skimp on the welding rod -- it is really amazing what hydraulics can tear up!!

    L2501/left over L3800

My dealer said the 2501 is about $23K before taxes. So I don't believe the L3800 at $20K is a bad price on a new one. It has about 10-12 hp more than the 2501 - otherwise they are about the same tractor.

Please help me pick out a tractor!

As Wolfman said, the loader weighs about 800 lbs. That is without the bucket. Add another 300+ lbs to the package. Keep in mind that the weight is mostly in the front; be careful about tongue weight. Tractor brakes are only on the rear wheels. If you have a loader your rear end will be WAY...

    rear rims for L185DT

This is the correct rim, but it is a two-part. http://www.ebay.com/itm/354873R92-New-IH-Farmall-AC-MH-Tractor-8-X-24-4-Loop-Rear-Wheel-Rim-B-C-/230643807476?pt=BI_Heavy_Equipment_Parts&hash=item35b37134f4 Measure the bolt pattern of your hubs, and check if they are the same for the newer...

    2001 B7400 or new BX2370

I have a 4' snow blower that I used with my L185DT. Problem was it is rear mount, and my geared transmission had reverse equal to 3rd or 7th. 3rd was maybe too slow, but 7th was way faster than you want to back up. With hydrostatic transmission, that should not be a problem. Horespower was...

    B2620 v B2650???

The 2650 weighs more, and has a bit larger rear tires - both good for traction. It has just a touch more HP at the PTO. The FEL has a bit more capacity, but that isn't very noticeable of a fairly light tractor - either one can put the tractor on its nose. The 2650 has a higher capacity on the...

    Box scraper blde

I'd go for a rear blade - you can angle them to push the snow berm off to the side. I personally have never seen the advantage of a box scraper for snow removal.

    Rhino Loader vs LA524

I'd save the $1800 for another implement! Go for the 66" width - that allows you to put 2-1/2 or 3" rear wheel spacers on the rear, and still let the rear tires fit in the bucket path. Use part or all of the $1800 getting something heavy for the 3 pt hitch; you will need 600-1000 lbs back...

    L3240 in Elgin, TX

I know it is easy to spend another's money, but 1600 hrs is a fair amount, and 29 hours is NEW! The hour meter is hours at rated RPM - 1600 hours would be like buying a car with 150,000 + miles on it.

    2001 B7400 or new BX2370

I'd get the B7400 in the wink of an eye. It has about the same weight, R1 tires that are also bigger, and leaves you with enough $$ for a couple or 3 nice implements. For your needs, the horsepower should be fine - you will be doing most light landscaping in the low speed range. You don't...

    Power comparison

I don't believe there are many issues with any of the L2xx or L3xx series. I think the older ones were more fuel efficient, and had few if any safety switches to give you grief.

    Landpride Snowpusher for L3800

I built a 7' push blade for my L3200. I use it in conjunction with a rear blade, on a 600' curving driveway. The rear blade does most of the work; the push blade clears a parking area by the barn and garage. When the snow berm made by the rear blade gets too big, the push blade will get it...

    New 4701 problem

There should be further logic in there that says you have to be in neutral to get off the seat and have it run. While moving in gear if you stand up, it should quit. Mine was so touchy that if I leaned over to the right the tractor would quit. You are generally so shocked that the tractor...

    L2900 Hydralics quit working

I'd take another look at the quick disconnect under the foot pedal. They can be a bear to connect, and if there is any side load they can stick in, and make you think they are actually connected. The valves are all open center, so if the hose isn't made up, nothing will work.

    Changing transmission filter.

I tend to agree with Dan - a whole lot of folks here have said the HST is much quieter with the SUDT... I went the total change with Kubota products on my L3200DT. Since it is gears, I've topped it up with fluid that says on the jug, "Kubota UDT compatible". I needed to top it up because...
