    third function from rear remote

It might be slightly more awkward to use (is third function up on the joystick?). One right hand, two separate levers.

    third function from rear remote

My (used) tractor came that way. I haven't used it yet, but it's very nicely done. Just two more couplers to disconnect when dropping the loader.

    TRACTOR SUPPY STORES for KUBOTA?

That's what happened to Runnings also. You can get just about everything there from Walmart or Lowes, but there's an aisle with hitch pins and another for hydraulic lines/fittings. They do have some sub-compact sized implements out in the yard.

Better Late Than Never……. Kubota Lift

I'm jealous. I also don't understand what the casters are for? Is that just ease of installation, or do they do something once it's installed?

Bucket down or up when tractor is off and stored.

I'm pretty firmly in the "when I hit the starter button, the only thing that should happen is the tractor should start" camp. I'd prefer that nothing else move until I tell it to. In addition to the concerns about skipping the 20 minute winter warmup time called for in my manual, with my old...

    Well Casing Rear Ballast

I was thinking of doing something similar, only using gold plate instead of 2x10s to save some money. Seriously I'm trying to come up with a plan. I'd like to keep it low, and around 1000 pounds. I have some cast window weights sitting around, a 55 gallon barrel, and a steel rim or two I...

Bucket down or up when tractor is off and stored.

I do this in the summer and this in the winter. Even inside, the bucket likely has snow in it and (every once in awhile) it may get warm enough for some of that to melt in the barn. My previous tractor was rusted almost all the way across the back seam at the bottom.

    Do I have a problem?

Shear pins for my snowblower are just grade 2 bolts. My daughter recognizes them and saves them for me. (Cheapo Dad likes to recover the nuts). My missus freaks out every time she finds one. I don't think I broke any this year, so maybe that's behind us.

    Kubota Warranty & Extended Warranty

First, OP, thanks for the research and the post. I come here to be informed. If I'm not interested I could just go read something else. I guess I'm turning into a grumpy old guy, but in my experience extended warranties are designed to move money from the sucker customer to the provider...

    Help determining serial

Mine is also on a sticker. I was assuming (!) it was also stamped somewhere to make a little easier to recover if stolen. Is this the only place to find the serial number?

    Fuel on angles

I've had some motorcycles like that. On one I plumbed a crossover pipe at the bottom to extend cruising range (also making it a PITA to remove the tank since it straddles the frame). One night I helped a guy that was "out of gas" by almost laying his bike on the left side to slosh enough fuel...

    Change of plans? L3240

I deleted a lengthy response -- with the HST it was a no brainer. Gear driven? I don't know how much the tractor is worth, but around here he'd pay $5-6K more for that tractor with HST. It's still pre-Tier 4 and will hold it's value (whatever that is now) going forward. I kinda lucked into...

    Led lighting question

It sure got your attention when the motorcycle headlight quit on a twisty road at night.

L3901 - what is the proper RPM for each job?

I've never had a brand new tractor, but have rebuilt a few gas engines. Back in the day the wisdom was to not run WFO and to vary rpms and load during break in. Should you try to vary the rpms on a new tractor during those first 50 hours?

    RPMs

When my son got old enough to drive, my dad thought it would be nice to give Dad's old truck that was pretending to be a tractor in my barn. Reliable, but old. The kid obsessed on the fact that I needed to pump the gas to set the choke, then warm it up in the winter (and also that Mom had...

    Rear Blade Operating Advice

I'm getting better at the logistics such as above. This year I had much more trouble with washboards and the box blade. Front wheels ride up on a hump, pushes blade down, front wheels drop off and/or back wheels ride up, blade lifts and dumps material. I was blaming the shorter wheel base...

    Rear Blade Operating Advice

With AG tires it looks like I'm doing more harm than good. I guess I'm compressing it, but won't the leftover tracks hold water and repeat the process?
