Ideas for building 3-pt ballast/carry all

I assume you're saying 2000-2400# (I first read it as 200-400 and almost skipped over the rest of your reply.) Unfortunately the owner's manual is rather vague: "Add weight to the rear wheels if needed to improve traction or for stability. The amount of rear ballast should be matched to job...

Ideas for building 3-pt ballast/carry all

Here is a picture of an older snowblower that I was thinking of stealing the mounting brackets off of. This one works for Cat I or II. The pin has a shoulder so the inside slot is Cat I (spread and diameter) while the outside is Cat II. Very good question (and I'm listening for the correct...

    Front & Rear 3rd Function?

This is what I have. I haven't tried to actually run anything up front with it. There will probably be coordination issues since the remote lever and the loader joystick are both on the right-hand side of the tractor (and I only have one right hand)

    Moving shipping container with tractor

I'm normally a "hole ma' beer 'n watch this" this kinda guy, but this is too dangerous for my blood.

Ideas for building 3-pt ballast/carry all

I have been contemplating filling a 55-gallon drum with cement and whatever scrap metal I have on hand and calling it good. I'm not sure how often I would need the weight when I wouldn't already have an implement on the rear, and the ability to hang extra weights off of my box-blade and/or off...

L 4060 slow FEL when box blade is on the 3PH

I hope this is true also. (I hope) I’m having the same issue. Found the fix on YouTube last night, but at that point I was clean and comfortable and didn’t want to go out and verify.

    Rear Remotes

I do the opposite. One of my (two) rear remotes runs up to the center of the loader. I don't have top-n-tilt, and use one remote a lot but have never really needed the second one (but could use it if I don't need it up front at the same time).

    Tractor choice

I do kind of wonder sometimes. I wanted the Cat II since I already had some Cat II stuff. This week I'm using my Dad's JD 790, and although it feels like a riding mower, I could probably get most of my stuff done with that. But, I'd need smaller implements. I guess if I was starting fresh I...

    Potential PTO Shaft Rotation Tool?

You might need to define some of your terms: Member · From New jersey Meanwhile, I have no idea why mine (L5740) won't freewheel when disengaged. All of my previous tractors would freewheel. I haven't tried with the clutch in.

Your tires had a better grip on the pavement, apparently just barely enough. Also, as you hit the little bumps off pavement, the tractor tries to bounce a little. As soon as your rear tire lifted a bit it was all over but the shoutin' manly admonition. I'm glad everybody is ok.

Implement storage is getting to be a real problem!

With my SSQA abilites I would definitely need to move the car far away before grabbing or dropping an implement. Is this something that comes with practice? I don't see anybody else chasing their bucket around the yard trying to hook up.

    Lift arm stabilizer question

I am a firm believer in "form follows function" so if it works it isn't ugly. Still a better job than I could do.

    Lift arm stabilizer question

Is that something you could fab up for your mower? Then the lift arms could be lifted up into the slot and wouldn't need spread out to get past the pin? I'd be curious as to a measurement on the spread of your mower pins--I wonder if it was Cat II, which might also explain why the pins needed...

    Lift arm stabilizer question

Here is a box blade with the style I'm talking about. (Screenshot from about 1:50 in ) If you can make that you could save 3 inches on each side.

    Lift arm stabilizer question

An older snowblower I have has the pins slide in (so the arm doesn't have to slide out). Mine does both Cat I and Cat II, but you could make it for just your Cat I (or Cat I at Cat II spread). I didn't know what this style is called, so I couldn't google it, but it looks something like the...

    Lift arm stabilizer question

Is that a Cat I or Cat II implement? It looks as if you're getting all of the spread it was designed for (the sway link sliders are almost touching the tractor end and you're nearly to the tires). Are the pins straight? Mine works fine for Cat I, but I have the problem you have with the Cat...

    Lift arm stabilizer question

Mine (not turnbuckle style, so "updated"?) is bent a little so that the right side almost doesn't move out far enough for the Cat II implements. I'm going to take it off and try to straighten it. I also notice that I normally can't get both sides in the round holes. There are oblong holes to...

Is your butt firmly on the seat? Mine scared me by behaving similaly, but it turns out I was leaning over to look at the tire when backing up so the safety switch was trying to save me. Whew.
