    front wheel stud replacement

If they screw in, try this, heat to about 500 degrees (handy-dandy HF IR temp gun comes in nice, here) then hold a beeswax candle up to the stud, let the wax wick into the threads near the base. let cool, and remove with vice grip pliers. If it's a hammer in stud, use a brass drift, and whack...

B219 hydraulic pump failed. Need help!

If your pump is running off the front crank, just get a pump with the same specs,(try burden's surplus center, lincoln, NE) and mount it with a lovejoy coupling, lots quieter than the old double chain setup... Shaun, do you ever get over to the unofficial allis web page? lots of good info over...

Oil Pressure Light Came On!!! pics

Blue devil is not your ordinary stopleak, it is sodium silicate, aka waterglass. It seeks out heat and changes to a fingernail polish like substance, that will stop small leaks. True, it is not permanent, but it will work from 2-6 years. it's not meant to repair hoses or other parts of the...

Oil Pressure Light Came On!!! pics

Marvel mystery oil is merely automatic transmission fluid, and yes, it does help de-sludgeify and clean a motor. As others have said, coolant check. You might want to start by loosening, then oiling, then re-torquing the head bolts. You can do them one at a time, then re-torque. Then do a...

    L-185 f front tires

Mine has turf tires front and rear. Looking to see if anyone knows whether any car rims will interchange with the fronts, want to go to a narrower front tire, for easier and less slip steering. Don't care if it raises the front axle height, a little.

B7100D Hydraulic Problems and then some...

Coupla thoughts: If you have a square backed chute, on your blower, you can line it with a piece of nylon or poly plastic, makes things slide much smoother. Also, some snows push better than blow. Never put a snow thrower all the way down on the pavement, the bottom stuff tends to cause the...

    Another block heater thread...

Got a L185, need a block heater for it. Was thinking of taking a universal tank type thermosyphon (if I spelled that right) heater, and plugging one end into the block drain, and drilling and tapping a hole in the top side of the head, for the upper connection. Has anyone tried this? Only...

    L225 headlights

Shaun, I thought they were for allowing hackers access to try to commit credit card fraud... Of late, everytime I use a card on line, I assume info will be stolen and used to buy video game stuff, in Fla! I will continue my process of sticking the parts I need on the dashboard of the truck, so...

Just priced a couple bulbs from the local dealer, $6.45/bulb, so price ain't too bad, just ain't worth a 60 mile trip for, by itself.

    It dies

Don't know if kubotas suffer from the same malady as other tractors, but a switch is a switch. If you have a heavy ring of keys hanging it, it can wear the key switch contacts so that they become intermittent. You can try lifting up on the key, in the on position, to see if anything changes...

Overheating issue on L series verified

My old Li85 that I bought used, had a pretty nifty solution, already in place. Someone draped nylon house screen, around the front nose of the sheet metal vents, where the air comes in. It was held in place with hog rings. You also have another solution, if you have the loader on it. Just...

    can you jump saftey switch?

You can run with a safety switch wired up, you throws your dice, you takes your chances. If you have employees operating, you will be fined if osha inspects. If I weren't a one man show, I would keep 'em operating, if my loved ones were operating it. I have thousands of hours of seat time...

    piston chipped

Dinged up pistons can also happen when a valve head drops off or, like one of mine did, crack in half, and the chunk of the former valve drops into the combustion chamber. I heard mine start missing, and pulled it right into the barn. There weren't many dings, so I just cleaned up the loose...

    Got a L185 engine question

Finally got it all apart, today. Got the freeze plug from a local Kubota dealer. Parts from them was $6.00. Gasket set from Weaver's was about a hundred bucks. Gonna put the FP in tomorrow, and block off the water pipe, and fill with water and see if any leaks through the block. Wish me luck...
