L2350 Hydraulic Pump Seal Leaking/ Failure

Just a thought, but was it working ok before, and has anything changed? In other words, could it be dead-heading and causing it to blow out? Particularly if a relief is stuck or restricted as mentioned by NIW?

    Ship heavy stuff with Fastenal!

That's how the tires for my B2150 were shipped. I couldn't believe how cheap it was, no complaints from me.

    Electric stop solenoid - why?

That all makes sense and generally fits with my expectations, thanks. I was close with the common place convenience thought, but hadn't quite got to considering the "everyone knows how to turn it off" safety angle that follows. Very valid. And the active (no timer) 2 lever system is...

    Electric stop solenoid - why?

The point of my original post wasn't for more modern computer controlled tractors with more computational power than Apollo 11. ;) Neither of my tractors have computers, nor do the tractors in the threads that prompted me to make this post. Obviously if a computer is controlling things, or you...

B7100 HST project underway. Rough start...

My opinion, keep looking. I was looking for a "decent" hood to replace the one on my 7100. PO dumped a load of rock over the back of the bucket completely demolishing the front of the hood and headlight area. I'm not interested in new or perfect, so though I would see what a "decent" hood...

    B2150 leak from steering column.

I recently fixed my leak, wasn't hard to do. Wheel comes off, some bushings and bezels removed, steering tube removed (huge thin nut is a bit aggravating, had to use a chisel), remove upper extension shaft (pin/spring), top casting remove (3 bolts), top side clip ring remove, remove seal and...

B7100 HST project underway. Rough start...

Here are some pics I took of may tired old faded 7100 for NIW loader build thread. That will show you how the factory did the sub-frame on the self contained loaders (that used a front mounted pump).

    Gannon Box Blade Help

What was your rpm? The pump runs at motor rpm, so if rpm is low, things move slowly. With the 3 point, that only affects "up". And you said you tried adjusting the down speed valve to no effect, so I doubt that's it, but the possibility is something that crossed my mind.

    Electric stop solenoid - why?

Both of my Kubota's and all the older Diesels I've operated had a mechanical kill device that shut off the fuel. Pull rod, lever with rod, some just push the fuel throttle lever all the way forward to kill. And it eliminates fuel, not air, so a run away due to leaks and such providing fuel...

    Electric stop solenoid - why?

Ok, that I totally understand, and that makes sense for why it was added by manufacturers to new tractors going into safety focused markets. You fall off the seat, it shuts the tractor down, and then you need additional mechanisms so you can allow off tractor seat work when required, and round...

    Electric stop solenoid - why?

This is just to satisfy my curiosity. I've read a fair number of post recently with folks somewhat fixated on a stop solenoid, adding or repairing. My B2150 came with one, but the relay is burned. It appears there was a small electrical fire there in the past, and other required systems were...

    wobbly steering wheel

I believe my B2150 with power steering is similar to yours with PS, not sure how manual steering might be different. I just got through replacing the upper seal on mine. Never had a steering wheel (the actual wheel) leak before. Anyway, the upper shaft is attached to the lower shaft with a...

    Silencer forward or upward?

I finally got my B2150 to a point where I could use it a fair bit this last weekend, even though the "dash" is still not together. I really liked the vertical stack that goes up about even with my canopy (on the ROPS). It's on the left side, and I turned the end bend to eject up and to the...

    New to Diesel Engines

Did you just say 80's vettes were high performance values? I don't think I've ever heard/seen 80's vette and "high performance" in the same sentence before... ;) The C4 in '84 was a huge improvement, particularly in suspension and brakes, but still was not up to the label IMO. When I was young...

    Harbor Freight Grinder Alert

Most HF electrical stuff is garbage, but the 4.5" angle grinders are an exception. My oldest was bough around 2000, the newest probably around 2005. Total of 5 in use and 2 boxes on the shelf for the inevitable failure, which has not yet occurred. These are the orange and black ones, they...

    Clutch and Throwout Bearing

That's a very reasonable position, certainly wouldn't want to scrap it. I have my own machine shop, so while I feel I could make it work, it should be said that you try at your own risk, your mileage may vary, and so on. The problem with taking it to a machine shop (at home or elsewhere), is...

    Clutch and Throwout Bearing

I don't think it will wear out to be concentric any more than the original hole wore to be concentric, but I do think it's going to wear faster on the shallow side due to always bearing the load there. The pilot bushing is not really meant to handle load at all. It's there to keep everything on...

    Diesel prices???

You can go broke heating with propane here, and it doesn't get that cold. I just had my tank filled up with plans of limitless grilling as well as operating a small forge. Cost almost $500, and that was much cheaper than other options I shopped around due to a good size "new customer" discount...

    Clutch and Throwout Bearing

I'm glad you are happy with the fix, but I wouldn't be comfortable recommending it. I suppose it's likely good enough and will last a while, but it's highly unlikely that the wear is concentric to the rotation axis. Which means that with a concentric bushing in there, the shaft won't be...

    CaveCreekRay-R U Alright?

Eh, no big deal. My wife is in Fairbanks with my daughter and new grandson. I think it was a bit below -40 yesterday, they've been having a mild winter so far. We don't do anything half way. ;)
