    How much grease for loader?

Like Mikester mentions , some old rags/paper towels to wipe off the globs and an old bucket nearby helps keep it a little neater. I also use the 2-3 pumps per pin on the 525 loader. Older clothes and overalls help when I know Im lubing or changing out implements a lot.. I also am liberal...

B7610 with King Kutter XB Mower Question

Like Roadworthy mentions "though it may bog down until mower is up to speed. With PTO disengaged you should be able to turn the PTO shaft by hand. That will give you an idea how much resistance is there. " My 5' King Kutter rotates easily by hand to hook up and align with the PTO splines, but...

    My tractor is currently stuck...

Quote Next I went back to the truck and got a 20 foot chain. This time I backed up to the 2501, hooked the chain through the drawbar of the MX, and through the front bumper arrangement of the 2501. This time, slowly and still with a little slippage, the MX pulled the 2501 out of the ditch...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Groomed the gravel that had washed along the road with the landscape rake. Put on the brush hog and trimmed along the road and back lot with a nice 2" cut until I hit a field rock swinging back into the drive on the way to the shed.... D#%$!. Got out the angle grinder and dressed a little...

    L2501

It took me a little while to get used to the HST treadle NOT being an accelerator peddle as in a "more pressure gives it more fuel.." I stalled it out a few times pushing harder for it to pull more. It actually reduces torque to the wheels. Now if I want to pull something or get more...

L3400, how to remove fuel pump

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle... flip the 10 mm wrench back and forth to get it worked out... IT IS A TITE AREA, but I had a little open end wrench that worked for me. and I bought a couple of cap screws to go back with next time so I can use a ball head allen socket to make it easier...

    50 he service l2501 DT

Like Muzzy said, your manual should give you the scoop. Always grease loader pins and clutch and brake pivots, and front tie rod ends. Pull the pipe plug to grease the front axle pivot a pump or two. I would run the engine a bit and drain the 6 qts hot oil in a LARGE pan. With your...

    Is it acceptable?

I grew up with Red Tractors and never had a Deere... was partial to Chevys but not Fords (but later liked Fords, Toyotas, Hyundais) was too young to favor Indians over HD, but am fine wearing a Honda Cap, Indian shirt and Harley boots.. ;) Times Change

    l2501 sputtering

Just changed out the fuel filter and used a oil pan under the filter to catch the drain back from the prime lines...Its only a cup or so depending on how fast you spin the plastic bowl off, but it saves a mess. I didn't see any crud in the filter or bowl, but now I know its fresh for the...

    L2501 hst and split brakes

.. Is it just me or is it impossible to use the split brakes on an hst? As others have mentioned only way is to have two right legs, or be pretty handy with the cruise lever and tempering whichever brake pedal you want to turn with.... I can however get the HST to whine if I forget and...

    l2501 sputtering

Thanks NIW... I will discount that valve as an area of concern and focus on making sure diesel reaches that point when I change filters next time. I pulled the fuel lift pump and noticed that when working the plunger, at one position it was closed and prevented flow thru it (just blowing on...

    l2501 sputtering

WSM does not say to have the engine running when opening the air vent cock and the Owners Manual does. Tried with engine running and did not fix problem as well as ran poorly. Tried without the engine running and fixed problem. Both books say it will run poorly if air vent cock is left open...

    l2501 sputtering

Took the fuel line off the filter and had good flow of around a gal/min from the open line and used a filter funnel into my 5 gal can and treated the 4 gals drained with PS Clear Diesel additive. I also checked the gravity flow thru the filter after reattaching the fuel line from the tank, and...

    Plowing / Grading with a Kubota L3300

I only have the landscape rake and usually have it angled as suggested. The little L2501 tends to rock pretty easy, but I can stabilize it a bit with the front bucket just touching the ground angled a little upward running slow forward. The Edge Tamers make it a lot easier without wearing...

    Brush Hog Gear Oil

I dont think it will hurt a thing.. I only worry if they go dry or if there is water mixed in. If it hasnt been changed ever, maybe when you get it warmed up, use your extractor to suck the quart or two out and give it a fresh dose of your favorite gear oil..just my opinion.

    Increased power in my L2501

Since HP = Torque X RPM/ 5252 ; raising RPM theoretically increases HP if torque is constant... on the Kubota 1703 triple engine, the top of the torque curve is around 60 which occurs around 1600 rpm and falls off slightly above and below that. A beautiful part of that is when brush hogging...

    l2501 sputtering

Is there a specific load or RPM or cold vs warmed up that corresponds to it sputtering? Likewise I have a 2016 L2501 HST tractor and have experienced the "sputtering" but it usually is when I'm running back to the house at 1800 RPM or more, after a normal work period of 30 minutes to an hour...
