    Using wheel ramps

Thanks for the feedback and the "test" - looking forward to hearing what you have to say. I looked at the truck ramps and they weigh 200 lbs each on average. I have read good and bad on Rhino ramps but looking at the 16,000 ramp that = 8,000 lbs per wheel. I think there is a fair amount "fudge...

    Using wheel ramps

That was my thought - I do appreciate the clarification from jyoutz about possible rolloff potential. I plan on measuring my front tires and validating that whatever I buy can handle the tire size. The ramps in post #11 don't handle enough weight as far as I am concerned. Kevin

    Using wheel ramps

Mark - I have a utility building that I would use the ramps in. Just interested in raising the front enough so that I can actually work without working as hard. Kevin

Hey NB - thanks - do you chock the rear wheels also? Kevin

    Using wheel ramps

Howdy - curious as to why you say you would not use these ramps. The specs state that they can hold 16,000 lbs. and the 4060 w/the hitch and blower comes in at less than 6,000. What is it that concerns you? Thanks, Kevin

    Using wheel ramps

I have a L4060 and during the winter I run the front end 4 point quick hitch with a snowblower. As I get older and the joints get stiffer I find it harder to get underneath the tractor to do the fun tasks like greasing the u-joints. Wondering if anyone on here uses wheel ramps to raise the front...

    Buying a UTV

I recently bought a Ranger Crew - the 1000 Premium model and I LOVE it. Bought it in part for the towing capacity as I use it with a trailer to move brush to my burn pile. I also own a Sportsman 570 and I really appreciate the larger engine in the Ranger. I have a roof but not a windshield which...

    Blowing snow - volume question

Interesting comment on the shear pin. This last storm was so large that our Ace Hardware literally ran out of shear pins. When I went to buy more there were 10 people trying to get some. I ended up buying a grade five bolt and lock nut which was ¼ the price of the shear pin. I wonder if the...

    Blowing snow - volume question

Thanks for the advice. I do have a tool box and I have wrenches, shear pins, punch and hammer and recently added a hacksaw and a locking pliers for those joyous occasions when the shear pin does not snap completely and ends up being bent.

Implements for an L4455A - 4 point hitch and subframe

Wolfman - thank you - dumb question follow up - Hey Wolfman - thanks for that feedback. I could see using a front blade where I am dealing with off road snow piles. Using my blower I can sometimes go to low and end up blowing rocks and dirt. If anyone is interested I found a good Messicks...

    Blowing snow - volume question

Thanks, yeah, I figured out the slow down part when I left it in high gear by mistake and started blowing. Broke a pin in under a minute which was new record for me. Now I keep it in low when in the deep stuff.

    Blowing snow - volume question

Well it's good you have a nice neighbor. I park my truck on the side of the road, slap on the snowshoes and trek about 1000 feet to my utility building which is on the front of the property. Dig it out, get out the machine and then blow to the main road so I can move my car before some big State...

    Blowing snow - volume question

Hey RC - thanks for the reply. Alas, the property is in Oakley UT and my primary residence is in Park City. It is a half hour drive with no weather but when we get a storm like this last one I wait it out and go when the weather and the roads are more accommodating. So I am almost always dealing...

    New Owner/new channel?

Welcome to the forum - looks like you have some nice snow that you will get to deal with. Your video made me laugh. I started dealing with snow with a Polaris ATV and a mini plow. After getting it stuck in 3 foot snow bank and using my excavator to dig it out I switched to a tractor and a...

    Blowing snow - volume question

Still very much a neophyte when it comes to tractors, snow, country living, etc. My wife is always telling me I should go to tractor school and I try and explain that OTT is as good as it gets when it comes to learning. :) So yet another dumb'ish type question. I have a L4060 with a L4479 - 74"...

Implements for an L4455A - 4 point hitch and subframe

Reading some recent posts about attaching an SSQA to a rear mount quick hitch and then being able to throw things like pallet forks onto the back got me to thinking. I am still very new to the world of tractors. I have the above reference front mount quick hitch which was purchased for my L4479...

    Repelling / Deterring Beavers

Hey Bob - I guess our trappers just don't have it in them to do it in the winter. I am ok with waiting if I can just hold them at bay. The river is the Weber, which is a primary source of water for many of the communities in they valley where my land is and also feeds into the Great Salt Lake. I...

    Camera on snowblower

So, kind of off the wall. Has anyone ever mounted a camera on their snowblower to keep an eye on the snow buildup around the auger? You can if it is turning by the blowing snow but there is no way to tell when the wet / icy stuff packs in enough to stop the auger and break the shear pin. Was...
