L4060 - Recommendation for rear grass - brush cutter

Howdy, I am wondering if anyone could recommend a rear mounted cutter for grass and brush. My land is a combination of grassland, scrub and woodland and while I will leave most of it wild I do want to create some paths through the grass to make it easy to wander. Took a look at the Kubota...

    Kubota - L4455A - 4 POINT HITCH AND SUBFRAME and LA805 FEL

Thank you for the notes and also the link. I did not get a manual for my hitch and can't find one online. My dealer is pretty unresponsive but I will ask them again for one. I know I can probably buy one from Kubota but don't think I should have to. Ground clearance is not that big a deal but...

    Kubota - L4455A - 4 POINT HITCH AND SUBFRAME and LA805 FEL

Hey Neil, thanks for sharing that. I did find that video yesterday and found it to be very helpful as to how the hitch is installed. If I do need to take it off I can reverse engineer the effort based on that video. Kevin

    Kubota - L4455A - 4 POINT HITCH AND SUBFRAME and LA805 FEL

Hello - I have an L4060 that I just got in time for winter snowblowing. I took the blower off yesterday (thanks to the smart people on this forum who helped me figure out how). I now have a follow up question. I have the L4455A 4 point quick hitch for the snowblower. My long awaited backordered...

Stupid newbie question - can’t get snowblower off tractor

Hey Skeets - I tried that line on my wife and I got "the look" - so I'm afraid that won't work.

Stupid newbie question - can’t get snowblower off tractor

Dusty, the manual had the one line that I posted and that was it. Like many manuals the assumption is always that you know what you are doing in general before you even the book.

Stupid newbie question - can’t get snowblower off tractor

Hokie85 - you are indeed a teacher as per your tag line. Thank you for your statement and for the video link. So, now I know that the female driveline attaches to the mid PTO. Every day, another bit of knowledge. My wife keeps telling me I need to go to tractor school and I keep telling here I...

Stupid newbie question - can’t get snowblower off tractor

Howdy - I have a Kubota L4060 with a L4479 snowblower. I bought it January of this year and it was delivered with the snowblower already attached. The dealer provided no instructions, assistance or any pointers so it has been a realLy interesting experience learning to drive a tractor and use...

Buying a rear blade for a Kubota L4060

Only my second post and both times the responses reinforce my understanding of how ignorant I am to the world of tractors (and snow). Thanks to all for the great replies. The blade I am looking at has a 12" offset and based on the comment about horsepower I will stick with it (84" on a 72"...

Buying a rear blade for a Kubota L4060

Thx - I do have a 74" front mounted snowblower. Don't have the blade yet, hence my questions. The tractor and the blower arrived well the property got 3 - 4 feet of snow so it has been a struggle. I have a ¾ mile road I am clearing. Ended up using my excavator to break through the snow / ice...

Buying a rear blade for a Kubota L4060

Very new to the tractoring world so looking for a little advice. As stated above I have a Kubota L4060 and want to buy a rear blade for it. I have a couple of (hopefully) quick questions. The first is regarding the blade size. The L4060 has a base width of 60" and the wheelbase is 72" My...

Stupid Tractor Newbie question about snow depth

I just to say thank you all again for the fantastic suggestions. I was able to clear about ¾ mile worth of road using the snowblower (front mounted) with all the knowledge I gained from this forum. I also used my excavator to break up the really icy parts and then the blower to clear them...

Stupid Tractor Newbie question about snow depth

Love that story! I do know what is underneath as there was no snow when I bought the land. It is a hayfield with a gravel road surrounding it so I am safe in terms of falling into ice or whatever.

Stupid Tractor Newbie question about snow depth

Thanks again for all the great insight. I had expected to get this tractor months ago and deal with all the ancillary things I would need to procure, ballast, chains, etc. I don't even have a front end loader as it is still backordered. I have the tractor and the blower. I may see if I can get a...
