    Repelling / Deterring Beavers

So - update for anyone who cares - I bought something called "Cole's Flaming Squirrel Deterrent" - capsicum based product that is wicked hot. Put it on various partially gnawed trees are the results are pretty darned good. I over sprayed where they were chewing and so far no more nibbles. If...

    Repelling / Deterring Beavers

Thanks D2 - I am getting ready to learn to weld :) So, once I get the hang of it maybe I will take this on as a project. Toss it in when the river thaws in the spring. No way will I get it done before it freezes seeing as my Christmas present to myself will be to buy the welder equipment.

    SnowBlower side parts

I have a L4060 with a 74" snowblower. Bought the Kubota drift cutters for it (model L2177). I have ¾" mile driveway and it used to take me three passes to blow it properly. Now with the side wings I can do it in two. Amazing the difference those extra couple of inches on each side make.

    Repelling / Deterring Beavers

Hey Trapper (guessing the name indicates why you know :) ) Thanks for the suggestion - right now we are seeing nighttime temps dipping below zero. At those temps I will give the dammed trees to the beavers. Kevin

    Repelling / Deterring Beavers

FYI - I did some more research on the whole gun issue. It turns out that I can shoot off firearms on my property. I just have to have a city permit to do so and the bullets can't leave my property. That makes me much happier as I have thirty acres and wanted to put up a range. But! As for...

    Repelling / Deterring Beavers

Thanks Buck - we use a local trapper who has been doing it for forever and they said it’s just to risky to trap now. As for taking a shot them, alas the town that our property resides in just banned all shooting within city limits. Appreciate the feedback. Kevin

    Repelling / Deterring Beavers

Thx RC - we do allow trapping. I had it done the first time. Natural predators are also doing well. I have seen multiple foxes and also caught medium size cats on my game cam. Owls are very rare around here however. Long term might try the owl box. Would love to have them around both for the...

Saying thanks for all the help I got here

So, I live in Northern Utah. I have about ¾ mile worth of road. Last winter was a disaster for me as I was new to snow, new to tractoring, new to using implements like a snowblower and blades. This site was my go to for advice on everything and anything about all these topics. The winter was...

    Repelling / Deterring Beavers

Howdy this is definitely off topic but I thought I would see if some of the smart folk on here could give me some advice. I live in Northern Utah and have acreage on the Weber River. We had a beaver family that did enormous damage to our cottonwood trees a few years back (prior to my buying the...

    Kubota loaders hard to get

I waited nine months for my load for an L4060 - my dealer (Northern Utah) said they are not flowing in pretty freely - at least for him - his backlog is gone and he even has some for sale. Perhaps push out your dealer focus into a neighboring state?

    Implement Delivery Delays?

For what it is worth I wanted to order a Land Pride rear blade (84"). I asked my dealer two months ago and he finally got back to me today. One year delay to fill that. Glad I went with a Dirt Dog which arrived in two weeks.

    Implement Delivery Delays?

@dhcole - I am impressed that you are even getting delivery dates from your dealer, albeit that they are constantly getting moved out. My dealer does not even bother anymore. I ordered a Kubota L4060 with an FEL and a snowblower in October 2021. Got the tractor and blower in January. When I ask...

    Rotary cutter recommendation

Here is a solid video that compares finish, versus rotary cutter, versus flail. Certainly can use a flail mower for cutting rough brush but that is not its forte and you pay a lot more for that privilege. Kevin

    Rotary cutter recommendation

Thank you for the recommendation. I really like the idea of buying product that is 1) In stock!) and 2) made (mostly) in the USA. Have reached out to see if this is really available as it sounds just fine for what I need. Kevin

    Rotary cutter recommendation

Howdy - question for the smart folk. I am looking for a rotary cutter for my Kubota L4060 tractor. I have been trying to work with my Kubota dealer for several months to get a Land Pride and having no luck. I was looking at the RCR2160 (1" cut capacity) or the 2" cut capacity RCF2060 or...

    Grappling with this...

Matt - I recently ordered a 60" EA Wicked root rake grapple. I live in Northern Utah so the four month lead sucks! But I spent about 20 hours looking at all the alternatives out there which I could list out. I chose the EA and went their size recommendation. I did so based on weight, design and...

Prime Attachments Root Grapple - any feedback?

Howdy - I am in need of a grapple for a ton of brush, tree clearing. About 10 - 12 acres worth with well over 100 fallen trees. I loved everything I read about the Wicked grapples and was willing to pay the higher price but they have a 4+ month lead time. Living in Northern Utah it would arrive...
