    Storage basket for LX

with my snowblower on (which has a pretty high top link position), it contacts with the 3PH at 7 - where the implement is about 2' off the ground. I can live with that :-) I mounted the firex bracket with 2 Rivnuts so it would be secure and not rattle. Thanks for the kind words.

    Storage basket for LX

The one thing I really hate about my LX is that it had no way to carry any loose items. A pair of gloves, my chainsaw helmet, pruners - there is absolutely nowhere to carry stuff like that. I'd seen some folks on the forum bolt an ATV cargo basket onto the ROPS, but I was concerned that...

    Auxiliary work lights on LX

Unused factory blank, according to the manual (I couldn't remember). On the cab model, it's the "beacon switch (if equipped)". But it's the wrong shape for my round switch, so I drilled.

    Auxiliary work lights on LX

Dash mounted the switch just like @dirtydeed - there was plenty of room in there and R&R of the dash panel was pretty easy. I didn't want the lights above the ROPS because I'm always running into tree limbs. I mounted the 4 lights to a bar then attached it to the ROPS with 2 rivnuts and some...

    TMG wood chipper

Second, third, and fourth this notion. The power feed makes actual operation give about 10X more throughput in my experience.

    QH05 or QH15 Quick Hitch For BX 1880 ?

Understood. Slower in theory, but in my limited experience/fleet, "quick-hitch compatible" hasn't turned out to be as universal as I would have expected. I suspect it's true if you're buying everything from one manufacturer, otherwise it's not all smooth.

    QH05 or QH15 Quick Hitch For BX 1880 ?

I gave up on my QH and bought Pat's. I only have three 3-pt implements, but the QH width wouldn't work will them all. Plus the nuisance of having to put bushings on all the pins (because my QH has CAT-3 sized hooks even though it's a CAT-1 rated QH)... I don't swap implements that often and I...

    Fuel Stabilizer and Winterization

FYI: I buy ethanol-free high-octane gasoline for all my small engines at my local airport FBO. They call it "mo-gas" and it's about a buck/gallon more than pump gas, but then I don't have to worry about ethanol effects.

Retrofitting electric actuation for the SB1024 snowblower chute

@ctfjr I read through your thread before embarking on mine. Frankly, it's when I was hunting for a suitable motor (at a decent price) and not finding one that I landed on the wiper motor idea and shifted gears (/bad pun). @Orange1forme thanks for advice. This will be my first winter with the...

Retrofitting electric actuation for the SB1024 snowblower chute

Accuracy, mostly. I made the wooden ones with my jigsaw clamped upside-down in the vise, as I don't have a wood-cutting bandsaw. And I didn't have any UHMW or Delrin on hand, so I decided to just have one made. If this plastic gear doesn't last, I'll have a steel one laser cut. That's about $100.

Retrofitting electric actuation for the SB1024 snowblower chute

I couldn't reach the crank handle from the seat of my LX, and the lack of vertical adjustment, convinced me I needed to get powered actuation on the chute. Truthfully, it didn't take much convincing :). I didn't like the sloppiness of the worm-drive, so I opted to directly drive that ring gear...

Anybody know where to buy a coarse-pitch spur gear?

Thanks. I can draw up a gear profile and have it cut (plasma or laser), this is super easy now with online brokers like Xometry. I assumed it would be easy enough to find a catalog item to match the ring that Landpride put on there, but maybe not. I'll probably have someone print a plastic gear...

Anybody know where to buy a coarse-pitch spur gear?

@chim that's clever. I can't tell from the photo - how does it return to rotate the chute CCW? Does the cable wrap on the drum shaft in two locations?

Anybody know where to buy a coarse-pitch spur gear?

I'm going to improve my Landpride snowblower and I would prefer to find a spur gear to match the pitch of the stock ring, rather than motorizing the big worm drive. I can't seem to find a source for spur gears with such a large pitch. Does anybody know where I should look? Thanks.

    PTO shaft u-joint replacement

Upon closer inspection, the yoke is bent. I'm just going to spring for a new PTO shaft rather than try to repair this one.
