LP SB1064 won't mate with my HF quick hitch - solutions?

I just picked up a used Landrpide SB1064 snowblower and the blasted thing won't mate to my Harbor Freight quick hitch. The SB mounts are just a hair too wide (inside to inside). The QH works fine with my chipper and receiver hitch adapter, but both of those use cantilevered pins whereas the SB...

    PTO shaft u-joint replacement

I recently bought a used implement that came with a PTO shaft. One of the u-joints on the PTO shaft is shot. Anybody know the best way to find a u-joint of the right size? Is this a universal thing where I can buy a u-joint based on the key dimensions, or do I have to go through the shaft...

    Yet Another Woodchipper Thread (MX-8600)

I got the MX-8600 to run with my LX3310. The 3310 has more rated PTO power than the 2610, but I'm at 7,000' elevation so it's reduced a bit (exactly how much is unclear due to the 3310's turbocharger, which is the smallest turbo I've ever laid eyes on). With the hydrostatic feed rate control...

    Plasma Cutter

I'm glad your YesWelder plasma is a good unit. I got the MP200 5-in-1 machine and I'm not really thrilled with it. The primary problem is that the Tig is crap. The plasma is OK, and the mig is just OK. (haven't tried stick or flux core). It's convenient having only one box, but if the Tig had...

Next mod to the snowblower chute / deflector conversion

Next mod to the snowblower chute / deflector conversion

hey @ctfjr could you say more about the actuators you're using? I'm going to pick up a used 3pt blower and am thinking about going electric actuation. Thanks.

Kubota 3rd function routing on LA535/LX3310

yes @radas I'm glad for it. I just got lucky, was told it would be the LP kit because the dealer said they couldn't get the Kubota kits at all. But when mine went in for the install, they had a K kit on hand.

@S-G-R looks about the same. thanks.

Kubota 3rd function routing on LA535/LX3310

hi folks, My dealer just installed the (previously backordered) Kubota 3rd-function kit on my LX3310. Their shop's work quality has been a little suspect previously, so... Is this bracket and hose routing correct? The bent-rod hose keeper seems to stick awfully far out for its function. Thanks.

    S&R 3 point chipper

Because I just got a tractor, I sold my DR 18hp tow-behind chipper and replaced it with a Woodmaxx PTO-driven 3pt chipper. If buying each of them new, the Woodmaxx is cheaper than the DR, and at least 5X faster at chipping wood. The DR doesn't have a power feed and has fewer knives on the...

    Grand L tool boxes

The LX is a good bit smaller in that area - the seat back come out over the cross bar, so the tool box would be cantilevered to the back quite a ways. It may work with a stouter cross brace... still mulling.

Looks great! I'm still mulling where to add a toolbox on my LX ROPS.

Lowering the Roll Bar and Canopy Shade on a Kubota Tractor

I actually worked at Jeep body engineering in the early 90s. It was officially called a "sport bar" for exactly the reason you state, but it was fully engineered as a structural part of the chassis to provide roof-crush protection. I am of the opinion that ROPS is both - to prevent rolling...

Lowering the Roll Bar and Canopy Shade on a Kubota Tractor

I don't know Kubota's thoughts exactly, but I'd bet that the ROPS height is chosen to keep the driver's head off the ground when the tractor is belly-up. Draw a line (or place a long, straight board) from the top of the ROPS to the front of the hood/grill guard. If a seated driver's head is...

Front loader and 3-point hitch slowly drop with or without the engine running

from the peanut gallery: I've nothing to offer the OP, but this is a great thread for educational value. This is the sort of thing that makes forums so valuable (particularly for folks that are new to tractors & hydraulics). Thanks!

Heights. Peakview Rd. Moved in Sept 2020 and still a couple acres to mitigate, so there will be plenty of chipping to do for a while.

chipper: got to work with my new Woodmaxx MX8600 this weekend...

Thanks, I have one of those for chainsawing. I need to find a good snag-free long-sleeve shirt -- my arms are all scratched up from working in short sleeves.

chipper: got to work with my new Woodmaxx MX8600 this weekend...

I liked the 8600 design much better. Smaller footprint, fewer hoses dangling out in space, just overall looks like a better thought out design. The fact that the 8600 is made in USA is also a plus in my book.
