    bx 2360 wont restart

Most of the modern tractors have a interlock switch on the pto and other places, (seats, clutch, etc). The lever must be I the pto "OFF" position to start. You may have tweeked the switch when you got off. Make sure the lever is in the "OFF" position and try wiggling the lever to make sure...

    L2550 Starting/Fuel priming

Do you have good fuel flow from the tank to the fuel filter? If you don't, your fuel delivery is being restricted by something at the tank out let strainer or the tank vent in the cap is plugged. Often water condensate will get into the tank and cause problems and also allow bacteria to live at...

A little color in the oil

Is this the first change of gear oil? if so, I wouldn't worry about a 'fine film". Those parts have to wear in somewhat.

    M4050 Oil Pressure Issues?

Re: M4500 Oil Pressure Issues? The owners manual calls for 10W30 but that's most likely not your problem. Check the oil pressure with a gauge. At rated speed, pressure should be 43-64psig.Allowable limit is 36 psig.At 500 rpm 7.1 psig (Reference M4500 WSM)

    Rpm

If you don't use this tractor often, you need to keep the fuel tank as full as possible between uses to minimize bacterial sludge (often call "algae")). The root cause of this fuel contamination is water in the fuel and the most likely source is from water condensing on the walls in the...

    Rpm

Re: L3240 Brush Hogging RPM keep dropping Sounds like a fuel issue. How many hours, how often do you use it, when did you last change the fuel filter?

    Rear end temp

I was going to ask for clarification! Perfectly normal. Between the use of hydraulics and the rear axle, all the mechanical inefficiencies show up as heat in the fluid.

Could use some help, starting issue

I don't know why you'd suspect the starter before you checked the battery and the interlocks and then conclude you had a fuel problem when the starter wouldn't turn the engine over. Starting a diesel requires a good battery/starter combination (as well as all the safety interlocks in the...

    Cutter blade question

I think Wolfman means "self-aligning" not "self balancing". The centrifugal force keeps them aligned in the running position.

Just bought an M4500DT project tractor

I have an M4500 that I bought last year with 2300 hrs on it. I use it as a rake tractor during haying and in the winter it plows the lanes. It's a solid machine but the controls are odd compared to US made machines of that era.

Machines with turbos- do you let them idle before shutting down

    1. Your need to go back and look at the fundamentals, Bob. I don't know what you are doing to get a dynamic pressure of 0.064 to 0. 45 but it is wrong. This would violate thermodynamic principals. 2.With q= 0.064 psi psi for q, the stagnation pressure would be 14.7 + 0.064 = 14.764 psi. How...

Machines with turbos- do you let them idle before shutting down

    9. Plug exhaust pipe to avoid unintended turbo spinning and damage. That's how this started. My NH TD95D owners manual has similar language and I related that. It makes perfect sense to me.

Machines with turbos- do you let them idle before shutting down

Here's what I got: 1. q= 0.0638 psi 2. I don't understand what you are trying to say in 2. above. It sounds as if you assumed that there is not enough pressure after the losses to turn the turbo, yet you have no way of calculating the losses 3. The tangential force is not cause by a...

Machines with turbos- do you let them idle before shutting down

In the case of a wind milling engine It is the flow through the engine that cause the blades to be subjected to an aerodynamic lift force that has a component in the tangential direction. if this tangential force component is greater than the internal mechanical friction (sometimes called...

Machines with turbos- do you let them idle before shutting down

Perhaps you could make a system diagram to help me understand your analysis because so far it doesn't make much sense (no disrespect meant). It looks to me like your are trying to do an internal duct analysis and you really don't have enough info to make that kind of analysis. One of the...

M110X Engine Warning Light comes on

What dies the M110X operator's manual say about this? That's where I would look first. If you don't have an operator's manual than get one. You'll need it learn how to properly operate the machine and often times questions like yours can be answered by simply referring to it. Have you talked...
