    Kubota l2501 throttle adjustment screw.

The Kubota D1703 is a vertical, water-cooled, 4-cycle diesel engine with a capacity of 30HP at 2800RPM. IF the engine is rated for 30 hp at 2800 rpm (and it doesn't say "rated" in this sentence, so that's why I bolded the IF) then your machine should be able to achieve this engine rpm under...

    Aluminum oil pan?

Invest in a Kubota block heater. Those magnetic heaters do not work very well, if at all.

    Cross Battery Cables

Usually there is a fuse in the circuit that will blow if you do this. (Don't ask me how I know this!) look at the wiring diagram in the owners manual. In my case it was a 40A fuse and was between the key switch and the starter and located on the firewall. Good Luck.

Gp, resistor or just plain cold?

Here's my experience. I have a M4500 with 2400 hrs on the clock and in the summer it starts with the glow plugs but it's a clattery start. If I try to start it on the glow plugs alone below about 40F it takes about a 1-1.5 minutes of glow plug and even then it clatters to a ragged start. I...

    M7500Dt bleeding

You are not an idiot and we are trying to help you. It's kinda' hard to do that from 2000 miles away. "I'd hate to have to drag it each time it runs out of fuel." I'm confused. Is it difficult to start with fuel in the tank or are you running it out of fuel and having difficulty bleeding it...

    M7500Dt bleeding

"...we get really good pulses of fuel out of the filter bleeders and the bleeders on top of the injector pump. We loosened a couple lines right behind the inj. pump and got fuel to drip out. " When you say "... behind the injector pump..." do you mean between the IP and the injectors? If so...

    Hydraulic whining noise

That whining sound generally means the pump is sucking air. How cold is the fluid? Is there any water condensate in it? If it's cold the viscosity may be really high and/or the water can be frozen reducing pump inflow and that can cause the relief valve to open by passing fluid away from the...

    Hydraulic coupler oil collectors

Here's a link. I've also seen another type but I can't find that link. A guy could make some if he wanted to but they wouldn't be like this type. https://www.kramp.com/shop-gb/en/1037013/2829522/0/Oil+collectoin+dust+cap++type+TARV

    Aftermarket Kubota Parts

"Nice thing about a 12 volt cooling fan is no parasitic loss from the mechanical fan and ...." The alternator has to supply the power to the fan motor and the engine has to provide the work to drive the alternator. Ain't no free lunch.

9540 bogs under load but idles

Classic case of inadequate fuel delivery. The question is why. The fact that you can't blow through the lines is the key. Start at the tank outlet and proceed through the fuel delivery system to the IP, looking for a blockage. Check the filter head also for internal blockage.

Best way to plow gravel driveway?

Here is what I designed and built for my tractor back in 1989. Stlll working. I have provided this on other forums and people have successfully used this design.

L3240 won't start when cold... Help!

I don't have any specific knowledge of your Kubota model so my suggestions are of a general nature. Are all the battery terminal "bright an tight" including the chasis ground connection? Do you have power to the glow plugs? "White smoke" is unburned fuel. Since it started when you jumped the...

    Back Blade Plowing

Skid shoes hold the blade above the surface while the pipe snow edge rides on the surface. The large radius does not bite into the gravel like a grader blade does so very little gravel is moved around. On pavement it just rides on the surface. It is true you have to deal with bolting it on. In...

    Back Blade Plowing

Here's a design for a "snow blade " edge I designed and fabbed in 1989. I used it on a JD435D I had at the time, then on a Ferguson TO-30, I sold earlier this year and now on our Kubota M4500. I designed it for gravel driveways but it works equally well on pavement. After almost 30 years use, I...

    Plugging in your tractor

I plug mine in when it get below 40°F. It starts easier and warms up faster saving wear and tear on the engine and the battery. Two hours is enough.

Time For Oil Change - Preferred Weight?

What's the owner's manual say? That's what I'd use. The other option is to talk to the dealer's service department. My guess, given your climatic conditions, is 5W40 if you're going to go to synthetic oil.

Is diesel pickup truck synthetic oil proper for our tractors?

I find some of these types of discussions amusing. Engine manufacturers and oil companies spend big bucks and have all the knowledge, the sophisticated test equipment, and analysis methods to develop and test lubricants. However, in reading these type of discussions, the general public can...
