I have my Kubota M5950DT at my Kubota repair location. But, they cannot figure what the problem is. Hopefully, someone out there will help.

I had the ignition switch, alternator, regulator all replaced. The wires are getting hot. The tractor does not charge.

It has been in their shop for almost 3 months. The shop even asked a Kubota rep what might be the problem and they did not know.

Please help as I have property to get back in shape.

Hot wires usually indicate a short.

What wires are getting hot?a short would cause blown fuses, melted fuse links or melted wires.wires getting hot is usually high resistance or corrosion in the circuits

Not a short, but like Fordtech86 said high resistance.

HAs anyone done a load test on the battery, I've had a couple that the alanator was working triple time trying to outdo a bad battery, and yes it still started fine.

Good suggestions above.

3 months seems an awful long time to troubleshoot this; and it sounds like the dealer is applying swapnostics not diagnostics, so maybe they aren't that clued up on basic electrical systems. Better to withdraw and get an autoelectrician to examine it. I hope they aren't expecting you to pay for the new parts they fitted - did they put the old ones back?

Thanks for the tips. I thought at first it was just the starter switch, but I was able to hotwire it. So, I had the Kubota dealer pick it up as they replaced my manifold in the past for this tractor. They aren't even letting me know the status. I have to keep up with them. They were also changing a rim, and could not find a rim for it. I had to find it for them and it was one tire dealer that they deal with all the time. DAHHH
I appreciate the input from everyone. Hopefully, they will find out the problem soon as the weather is changing.
