    Kubota Quality

I bought my backhoe attachment separate from my tractor loader. It came disassembled on a pallet. When the time came to pin the backhoe to the tractor I couldn't get the pins in. After pulling the tractor away from the backhoe I discovered that the pins wouldn't even go through the attachment...

L47 vs. SVL65 Breakout Force - trying to decide between two machines

If you do go with a L47 and want the 3 PH kit, I would suggest getting extendable links and telescopic stabilizers. They are not available as a regular option, but my dealer made up a set from GL parts. I also added a hydraulic top link and a tilt cylinder (not shown). The storage rack that is...

L47 vs. SVL65 Breakout Force - trying to decide between two machines

I was faced with a similar decision a few years ago. I ended up with the L47 with an upgraded 3 PH. I do some bush hog work which is much more comfortable on a tractor. I work alone most of the time. Being able to get off the machine with the loader arms raised allows me to adjust slings etc...

Anyone own a L47 soft cab?

Thank you for the information. I like the glass windshield. It looks like Curtis only makes the hard cabs for the L47.

Anyone own a L47 soft cab?

I almost bought a Curtis hard cab for my L47 last year but the economy changed my mind. $10 k is a little steepo_O Now I'm thinking about a soft cab. Does anyone have experience with them? Are the windshields glass? I'd appreciate your advice.

    BX 1880 - Do I need a 3rd Function Kit For a Grapple?

If you have rear remote hydraulic connections you can run the grapple off of those. You will need to run hydraulic lines from the grapple piston back to the remotes. Other than that method you will need a 3'rd function.

    Compact tractor purchase

It all depends on what you do on the three acres. I used to unload 2200 lbs pallets of coal. The tractor didn't care if it was on a small lot or a large one. However it did care about working on side slopes. I'd rather have a machine that is a little big for my use than too small. If possible I...

Backhoe Owners - Not Just Kubota

I had a 4 stick 1985? Ford 655a several years ago. The outrigger controls worked opposite of that of my Kubota. On the Ford pushing the stick to the rear lowered the stabilizer. My ability to learn new things has diminished and I'm forever getting the Kubota controls mixed up.

Backhoe Owners - Not Just Kubota

Zero turn tires for hilly yard

I actually looked into a Kubota B and BX for my mowing before buying the Ferris. IMHO as far as value goes I think the tractor wins. Diesel engine, 4wd etc. I just don't have enough hills to make the tractor worthwhile. On decent ground the Z is soooo much faster. I spend too much time mowing...

Zero turn tires for hilly yard

Just so you know, I live in the country. My lawn used to be pasture, so I'm not as particular as someone with a manicured lawn. I think the new tires were a big improvement over the supplied turfs. Side slopes that had been impossible with the turfs will sometimes suffer some damage with the...

Zero turn tires for hilly yard

I recently purchased a new Ferris Z and went through the same tire selection problem. I ended up running chevron style tread, which is what I ran on my previous machine for 18 years. They work for me. One thing I did learn is that the size printed on the tire is more like a rough guess.o_O I...

    Zero Turn Mowers

I'll second that. My back being pretty messed up, plus being old:oops: pushed me into a new Ferris. I had a 18 year old rigid frame Ferris that was working fine except for the ride. After trying a couple of different suspension seats I threw in the towel and bought a new ISX2200. I have several...

My L47 came with a backup alarm. Maybe the same switch could be used on your machine??

    L2501 Buying Advice

Agree. I had switched from square bales to round and bought a L3240 w/ the larger loader thinking that it would be sufficient . The area where I kept my bales had a slight slope. After about two weeks and almost rolling the machine a few times, I sold it and bought a larger tractor. Even with...

Which models are compatible with a backhoe?

I don't know how much backhoe/ loader work you intend to do. If you are going with a L frame tractor anyway, you may want to consider a L47 which is actually designed for backhoe work. If you're planting rose bushes and moving mulch it's overkill but if you are digging out stumps/huge rocks it's...

    Tractor seats

Because of back issues, I'm trying a $600 suspension seat on my 18 year old machine. As much as I dislike spending that much on a seat, I'm hoping to avoid spending $10,000 min on a new mower that has a suspension. Look at the bright side. You could have saved $400 by spending $30, 000 on a...
