    Sod Cutter

Wow! That's working nicely!! Watering the lawn the day before in the area that will be "stripped" might help with both the stripping and giving the rolled up sod some nourishment if it won't be laid down and watered in shortly. But if you're not going to relay the sod.....then who cares...

Anyone here own a boat, or know a lot about boats?

If the new outboards are anything similar in design/function to the older models (like I've got and am familiar with) the "pee stream" or "tell tale" is just an indicator that your water pump is working. The main water "exhaust" from the pump is not through that pee hole. So if your tell tale...

Anyone here own a boat, or know a lot about boats?

mcmxi, when hooked up to a water hose....will your outboard's water "flushing hookup" allow you to run your motor at a low rpm....out of the water? If not, a "water muff" that fits over the water intake ports to the water pump and supplies water to the pump via a garden hose can be a handy way...

    Liquid fertilizer in sprayer

When I've used either granular fertilizer or herbicides to be sprayed in my 25 gallon sprayer: Add the prescribed amount of granular product you're going to be using into a separate small container of warm water. Mix and stir that blend until all has been dissolved thoroughly. Then add that...

Removing T-Posts - almost fell over

If you want to make them real easy to pull out..... remove a little dirt around the pole, add some water, wiggle the pole to let the water down alongside the pole turning the soil alongside to mud.....pull pole. Works great for pulling ground rods as well.

    Any Kayaker for opinion

We have a couple of the less expensive and shorter kayaks like you speak of. They've been plenty fine when the kids were at home and they and their friends paddled around the lake on them. I also have an Old Town 17 footer. that one will get up and move!! But it's heavy and narrow.....hence...

    3 point sprayer questions

I think my pump is also about the same size (1.8 gpm) and it's just barely adequate. Something in the 3 - 4 gpm range would be perfect for a couple of reasons. One, it would allow for more agitation when desired. And secondly, you could use a wider selection of nozzles that would put out some...

    Large Garden Tips needed

For many years prior to a roto tiller, this was my cheap (less expensive) way to cultivate and prepare a seedbed for our 3 acres tillable ground. All was picked up used at auctions or just before they hit the scrap dealer. This setup was used behind my older 20 HP JD750 MFWD tractor. The...

Insight gained after making an operating mistake

If that's a "Newbie mistake"........ what do I call mine after 40 to 50+ yrs????:ROFLMAO: I had my BXpanded tooth bar for less than a week before I put a nice little "slice" in the metal OH door trim on the shed. (That tooth bar is SHARP!) At least the trim is dark grey in color...

    3PT Sprayer Bracket Fabbrication

Thanks, Yooper!! I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out and should have done it years ago......just for the convenience. My biggest mistake on it......after cutting, beveling, and final welding......was realizing I should have put the rusty cut pieces into the sandblast cabinet prior to...

    Bush hog vs flail

I had to go out and look at my model # to be sure. My flail is the heavy duty EFGC 48" with the heavy duty hammers. I chose the 48" for my use because of our woods. Plus, I can offset it so it does extend just past the right rear wheel and the belt housing on the other end is just within the...

    Bush hog vs flail

I have a couple of old JD brush hog mowers. A couple years ago I purchased the heavy duty model Betsco flail mower. 54" with hammers. The old rotary mowers haven't been used since the flail showed up. The flail does a much nicer job of cutting whether in grass or brush around here. If...

    3PT Sprayer Bracket Fabbrication

It’s been too windy to spray for weeds the past couple of days…..so it was finally time to make a dedicated 3 pt bracket to mount the 25 gallon Fimco sprayer on behind the B2650. Here’s what I came up with after raiding the scrap metal bin: The bottom platform is 1.5” angle iron. The uprights...

    3 point sprayer questions

I don't have any suggestions on alternate sprayers/pump setups.....as I also use a small 25 gallon setup. I've had pretty good luck by thorough cleaning of the tank and flushing out the motor with straight water hooked into it with the garden hose after each and every herbicide spraying is...
