    Ls355 remote hydraulics

Those drivers have an open center valve and simply use the hydraulic cylinder to cock the spring. Pulling the lever fires the spring, exhausting the oil and releasing the hammer. Plumb it like any other open center valve. Are you sure the loader valve does not have a power beyond port for the...

    Grill Guard

Took me less than two weeks to punch one in my new L3901. Kubota should be embarrased by the factory "grill guard". Not surprisingly Messicks has a replacement grill in stock I was preparing to roll my own from expanded metal/perforated sheet until I came across this thread. Dan

    L01 Rear Ballast

Thank you all for your input. I have had another week in the seat of the new machine and I am getting more accustomed to it. After market (3") spacers are on the list and I am sure they will help considerably. I was very close to getting R1s and had I realized this additional wheel weight...

    L01 Rear Ballast

Thanks but apparently my arithmetic isn't as good as my thinking  Some how I came up with the wrong density for steel and it wasn't even close. The plates need to be 16" to get to that 180# number. Other than cost should not be an issue - here is a 14" faceplate set inside the wheel and...

    L01 Rear Ballast

Yes - my motto is KISS. and after a little straight edge work I think that's the way to go. Use three longer studs staggered at 120 degrees as pilots for the first plate. Use a hex hex nut on each stud to hold the wheel to the hub as per factory which will also space the first plate up clear of...

    L01 Rear Ballast

I think I see how that worked. The adapter I pictured was used on Ford's dual wheel setups. The hex with female thread secured the inner wheel like a conventional lug nut. Then the outer wheel bolted to the male extensions using a spacer ring and a second nut. At one point those adapters were...

Got a picture of those fasteners - I can make just about anything. Dan

    L01 Rear Ballast

Thanks for the picture - pretty much what I garnered from the parts list and I agree its likely too big to fit inside the 19.5 wheel. See my other reply for my other thoughts. Dan

    L01 Rear Ballast

This is the kind of stuff I thought I would avoid by buying a new tractor. Apparently Kubota is not going to be any help in this regard so its back to the drawing board. .:devilish: I just had a closer look at the wheels and the centers are dished inward so you need a scheme that will...

    L01 Rear Ballast

Tires were never my concern but hanging wheel weights is. I looked at the L8066 parts list yesterday and it was pretty clear you needed bolt holes in the wheel to mount the first plate. It also looked like the plate was dished to match the R1 wheel and not going to fit the R4 wheel no matter how...

    L01 Rear Ballast

Old age is killing me. I am going to have to correct my correction - I had it right the first time: Rears 15-19.5 6 ply Titan Trac Loader , 6130# @ 30 max PSI Fronts 27 x 850 - 15 6 ply Titan Trac Loader, 2480# @ 45 max PSI Per Messicks pre-delivery checklist rears loaded with mystery fluid...

    L01 Rear Ballast

6130# per tire. Correction - looked up the wrong model. That is the 6 ply rated tire. Kubota supplies a 12 ply rated tire good for 9190# Dan

    L01 Rear Ballast

I just checked and indeed no holes for wheel weights in the L01 R4 wheels. Soneone at Kubota should be shot. I think a sinple weight plate similar to what Ford used may be the easy way to go. Make it to match the Kubota lug pattern and your choice of aftermarket weights and off you go.

    L01 Rear Ballast

Tread width on the R4's is not adjustable. If you want to go wider you must use spacers. The R4 industrial rims are not adjustable. Makes sense. - that's a tread width of 51" plus another 8" out to out for the R4's. Should not be a problem for the axle bearings. That is getting into my...

    L01 Rear Ballast

You cannot adjust tread width on the R4 tires - spacers are your only option. I am not a newbie to tractors and tread width adjustment. What is the maximum spacer width reasonable for an L01 with R4 rims? Dan

    L01 Rear Ballast

That's exactly where i am headed. So next question is how wide can you reasonably go with spacers. I have a lot of sidehill operation and the tread width on the R4s is not to my liking even without the loader. Dan

    L01 Rear Ballast

Just took delivery of a L3901 with LA525 loader and loaded R4s. Its clear it needs more ballast. Looking for wheel weight recommendations from folks that have put them on their tractor - OEM or after market sources. And yes - rear wheel weights - not alternative solutions. Dan

    G2160 starter problem

I chased this problem for a whole summer. My machine has a bagger on it and about 4 extra safety interlocks. Never resolved the issue. I threw the JD relay the PO had installed in the trash - it had same issues - and I keep a jumper wire under the hood. It never fails. I also have a G2460 and...

L3901 won’t lift and curl at the same time.

Breand new 2021 L3901 with LA525 delivered two days ago and it lifts, lowers, curls and dumps simultaneously with every load I have had on it. One of the first things I tested. Down stream power beyond circuits (e.g 3pt) continue to receive flow while boom spool is shifted but are blocked as...
