    B6100/7100 DIY 'charge regulator'

I consider this a repair, so hopefully im putting this in the right section. On some other post i mentioned that i had replaced the original 'voltage regulator' with a small bridge rectifier and solar charge controller, but i didn't have any pics of that and kinda felt bad about leaving that...

    Glow plugs

I agree, 12.63 means basically no current is flowing because the glow plug circuit flows enough it would normally cause a very noticeable drop, maybe down into 11 volts. I have to suspect you are checking voltage at a different point than where you were jumping power to. If you were using the...

    D722 OIL priming ???

Sorry to hear about the memory symptoms, hopefully that passes. Glad you got your oil pressure up! Silliest thing i ever did to get a stubborn engine to prime was use a tiny funnel to fill the oil feed passage to the oil filter, and then turn the engine backwards by hand to suck it across the...

    Timbers for forks

I once used 2x 8ft 4x4 posts, held over the forks of a forklift i once owned with 1 large c-clamp each, and used this to lift a ~10x10ft deck to attach to a mobile home. I did do some work underneath it extending the legs to make it self-supporting again, but even had it fallen it would still...

    D722 OIL priming ???

Thanks for the clarification. I only looked briefly in google image search (not actual service info) and generalized based on my automotive experience. Since individual o-rings are even MORE likely to fall out of place while setting the parts, i think that's likely the prime suspect here.

    D722 OIL priming ???

So looking at a couple diagrams it appears the oil pump bolts to block behind timing cover, while oil filter mounts on timing cover itself. This means pressurized oil crosses from block to timing cover in at least two places. Given what youve said, the simplest answer is that the timing cover...

    Backhoe question BL4520

So the round bar across the middle of that subframe would slot into some thick C-shaped openings on brackets bolted somewhere near your 3pt lower pins on the tractor. The front of that subframe would probably have a long crosspin go through it to retain the subframe from sliding out of the...

B7100 Backhoe setup…. Is this the correct way?

Glad to hear you got it working. Frankly im somewhat surprised it turned out well because I have that hoe on a larger B8200 with proper subframe, and i also have had B6100s and B7100s with and without front loader.. Even WITH the front end loader, and KNOWING that the hoe weighs 1000lbs and...

    questions about B7001 charging system.

If the battery voltage falls substantially overnight when nothing is hooked to it, the battery is bad, so that part is simple. As far as the voltage, 14.68v actually is 'too high' if it goes on for a long time. But, it doesn't mean that anything is wrong with the tractor. It just means that...

Kubota B7100 4x4 pilot bushing help

Two little Kubota loader tractors and a mini-truck.. that is my kind of carport! :ROFLMAO: I also suspect that at some point the loader subframe did not prevent the 'motor plate' from bending, putting the crankshaft and transmission input shaft out of alignment. If that plate is not bent I...

    Kubota B7100 HST electrical issue

Starter needs two powers and a ground to function. Power on big wire (constant, it's directly connected to battery positive terminal) Power on small wire (only when key is in crank position and clutch pedal is pushed) Ground (starter grounds through its housing, through engine, through...

    L245 dt shift forks placement

Oh boy. As a long time auto tech im fairly sure i could figure that out if it was in front of me but over the internet... without a crapload of pics all i can say is you NEED to find the manual for that one!! Did you take any pictures as you were taking it apart? I found this pic in another...

Looking for an easy access for jump starting and charging

So.. I teach automotive electrical classes, even have a hybrid/EV certification etc etc. Things i would add: I like the large Anderson connectors idea the best, including just getting a good set of jumper cables and splitting them somewhere in the middle with same large Andersons so that you...

Need advice on a seized up L4701 HST in Northeast Texas

That's an unusual circumstance to be sure. ASE Master Tech here, but not a diesel specialist by any means. I do have a light diesel ASE Cert though, and all the basics are universal.. Such as. Seized vs compression test. Seized means the engine won't spin. Compression test REQUIRES the...

    Moving heavy wet snow

The cutting edge on that BX looks more like 1/2-5/8” in the middle.. like what youd find on a box blade or rear angle blade. Thats what stood out to me.

B7100 new owner- cannot start - need advise.

Yeah, it doesnt sound YET as though its definitely broken, but possibly just misunderstood. First, tell us whether it has a gear shifter in front of the seat, that would definitely need the clutch pushed to start. Regardless of whether the glow plug indicator ever glows, just try homding...

    Moving heavy wet snow

Im not that familiar with front blades, being in a place where it never really snows, but it sticks out to me that ive never seen another front angle blade with as beefy a cutting edge as that. Am i just lacking context or is the kubota front blade actually unusual in that way?

Change out old regulator and rectifier for new combined one - how hard?

I took a slightly different approach to rewiring the charging system of the last B6100 i fixed up.. i fed the two wires from the ac dynamo to a bridge rectifier like so: And fed the single output wire to a cheap solar charge controller’s solar input, such as: And of course hooked the battery...
