B2601 grapple

Does anyone have a 66 inch grapple on a b2601? Not much of a selection locally and I found a 66" that only weighs 220 lbs.
Just wondering if it would be too wide for any reason.

I have a 72” (it’s for my MX) that I had on my B a couple times. It was way too heavy for legitimate use. From a width standpoint it’s wider than it needs to be, but if it fits where you need it and not to much weight it’s fine.

Only thing I would offer is that the if you are raking ground or pushing into a pile I think it’s better to cover the tracks than be too narrow and have your front tires driving over the pile you are working into…IMO.

I think on a B size machine weight of the grapple is much more important than a few inches width either way than the machine. If the price is right and the weight is light, I would not bat an eye to run something a little wider…might restrict where you can take it, but I don’t think a deal breaker…IMHO.

Food for thought- if it only weighs 220, will it be easy to bend? That just doesn't sound like a lot of steel on a 66 incher. For reference, my 55" is 290.

Yes, I can pick it up for 1500.00. It's a Tar River brand. Would mostly use it for cleaning up treetops.

The wider the easier to bend and tweak the loader. 54” on B26 is plenty. Better enhance your grill guard first if messing with limbs.

I used to work near that "company" best I can tell, they import from China. Next town over, Tarboro, is W.R. Long, they actually build in the USA (if that's important to you). They have dealers in Beckley or Lewisburg that could order (guessing here) a bolt on grapple (I'm bias since I love mine...)

Anyway the single lid bolt on grapple is 143 pounds and $1,045 based on their website https://www.wrlonginc.com/single-dual-dualx I would add a tooth bar and if you don't have hydraulics, they have that too.... Again, I think it's a great match and with the bucket still attached, the solid bucket protects your grill (somewhat).

Good luck, you'll love ANY grapple (but I do think 66" wide might be too wide...)
