    B7100 locks up in 2WD

So I'm to the point where I'm ready to pull the transmission cover to inspect the internals. I cant' seem to get the cover off. I've searched but couldn't find anything. The WSM doesn't get into the specifics. I tried using the chain hoist to pull it off but the ropes keep breaking. Only...

    B7100 locks up in 2WD

Yes, I needed the momentum. The grade was steep enough and the grass was wet. In all honesty, I figured the tractor was tough enough to handle the weight. Since it ran fine in 4x4, I still continued to use it all day. It would be nice to have the 2x4 for when I drive it a short distance on...

    B7100 locks up in 2WD

So I jacked the front end off the ground. In 4x4 one front tire spins one way, and the other tire spins in the opposite direction. Makes sense since the front driveshaft has is engaged. When I flip to 2wd, same results, so something in the transmission is locking the front driveshaft in 2wd...

    B7100 locks up in 2WD

Hey guys, Was hauling a small trailer today. Had about a half ton of wood in it. My procedure for getting it up the back yard is to put it in 6th, 4x4 with the diff lock engaged. I need enough momentum to get it up the hill since the trailer weights more than the tractor. I guess I stressed...

B7100 leaking oil from odd location at head

Yes, I'm hoping it holds until warmer weather. I though about various scenarios that would cause them to push out. Overheating being one of them. I also wonder if the vibration that occurs on a diesel engine helped nudge them loose. Cummins had issues with case alignment dowel pins working...

B7100 leaking oil from odd location at head

So my temporary fix was to punch the pins back in and place a thick glob of red RTV over them. The pins pushed back in easy, but they don't appear to come out easy. I doubt this will hold and I already ordered replacements, but it sure would be nice to last through the snowblowing season. So...

B7100 leaking oil from odd location at head

Thanks for the reply gentlemen. I did try to pull the one out with a set of vicegrips and could not get it out. I did mar the aluminum sleeve in the process. Hopefully I didn't screw it up because I don't believe I am going to get it out. I'll try to drive them back in. I'll try the loctite...

B7100 leaking oil from odd location at head

Hello, I purchased a 79 B7100 this summer and have been slowly replacing parts as needed on it. I put it back together and all seems to work well except for two oil leaks. The first leak is a bad rear main seal, unfortunately. The second is from two odd locations on the cylinder head...

Kubota B7100 / 6100 Front PTO shaft measurements

Hi Jeff, It actually appears that the front pto shaft for a B8200 (PN# 70080-01446) will work when shortened. It uses the same electro-magnetic clutch, has the same oddball spline count and diameter, and same 1'' shaft diameter. The best part is it's still available for purchase! Time to...

Kubota B7100 / 6100 Front PTO shaft measurements

Thanks for the reply Jeff. I have the bearing housing and clutch. I do have the splined crank. I was able to buy the crank pulley that has the three bolt holes in it. I figured this could be used for attaching a machined flange/shaft. I'm not going to have splines broached in, that's going...
