    Winter Rye seed prices?

Local Tractor Supply around here wants $54.95 for a 50lb bag. That's ridiculous. That's double what it used to cost. My neighbor used to spread winter rye on his property every year to green up his property during winter. Last year was the first year he didn't do it. He said the cost had gone...

    Mower blades

Around here they charge $10-15 per blade to sharpen. I installed new blades this year. I will pick up a blade grinder and before next season I will sharpen the 3 old blades and the 3 new blades. It will take about 5 years for the blade grinder to pay for itself sharping them once a year.

Mowing Grass - Help With My Next Mower, Please

I use my 2601 with a 54 inch MMM to keep my property mowed. It does fine. If I can't mow or walk under a tree because the limbs are too low, then they need to be removed. A zero turn is faster as long as the area is smooth. My property isn't. The larger tires of my tractor make mowing...

    RCR 1860 Rotary Cutter

The RC1860 is a good cutter. It's the cheap Chinese gearbox and seals that are the problem. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

‘98 m7030 spitting oil out of power steering breather hose

That tractor looks really good. I would have never thought it was a 1998 model.

    Kubota mowing deck ??

I traded in my JD 915B commercial Z turn for a B2601 with a MMM. The zero turn was faster, but due to my property being rough the ride was terrible. Even with the premium seat. The larger tractor tires make mowing a lot more comfortable. The cut quality is fine with the tractor. The R4...

    New to me 😲

When I was a kid, I had a 100cc Suzuki motorcycle. We updated the ignition coil with a CDI unit. Every so often, I would kick start that thing and it would start running backwards. Fun times.

Rebuild or replace HSD for B2710

Have you tried to locate one in a salvage yard? If you find one, you could just swap out the unit instead of rebuilding it. Then you could have the old unit rebuilt and sell it to recover your cost.

    RC72-27B on a B2100?

Interesting idea. Is there enough room between the front and rear tires to get it in there? Especially with the front wheels turned. If you decide to try it, please keep us posted on your progress. And take photos.

    Finish Mower

I remember reading on this forum about some tractors bogging down when mowing up steep hills. They removed the front end loaders and the tractor did a lot better. Maybe try removing the loader and trying that. Between the tire ballast, the front-end loader, running the rear finish mower...

    I think I overpaid

What a jerk. A friend would just congratulate you and admire your new toy instead of insulting you. If my neighbor told me that I paid too much then laughed and walked away, I would just do the same thing if he ever asked to borrow it. I would just laugh and walk away.

Want to buy L2502 but cold start has me re-thinking

My dad had a wore out 74 Gran Torino station wagon that would use a quart of oil for every tank of gas. It didn't smoke as much as that tractor.

    Mower Chute Question

I considered removing mine but decided against it. I mow near my house and the last thing I want to do is break a house window. Or even worse, injury somebody with flying debris.

Lessons learned doing the 50 hr service.

I was ready for the fluid to come pouring out. I had my new filter in hand, ready to put it on. . . I spun the old filter, and it fell off. I took the new filter and while putting it on, it slipped out of my hand and fell into the oil container. By the time I retrieved it and put it on I had...

Lessons learned doing the 50 hr service.

1: Make sure the old o-ring comes off with the old filter before putting on the new filter and filling it with fresh oil. Otherwise, you will have to remove the new oil filter in order to remove it, wasting the fresh oil. 🙄🙄 2: Wear gloves so that the new filter doesn't slip out of your hand...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I highly doubt it. He said he mowed then tedded 15 acres in 11hrs. I don't see a B2410 doing that.

Do they really charge that much?

I've already watched some videos on it and will be doing it myself. . . I was just shocked at the price.

Do they really charge that much?

If the drive out price was $350 and included all the filters and engine oil and greasing it up I'd consider it.

Do they really charge that much?

I called my local dealer and informed them I had a B2601 and needed a 50 hr service and asked for the cost. Service person replied $600-700 dollars.o_Oo_O I said, "Wow, I had no idea it would cost that much." She laughed and said, "Yep, we hear that a lot." I was trying to save myself...

    Engine RPM's while mowing?

On my B2601 the 540 mark is at 2800 rpms. When I'm mowing, I run it at 2600. I looked up the hp/torque curve of the engine and the hp is the same between 2550ish and 2800 rpm. But the torque is higher and the fuel usage is less at 2600 rpms. The grass looks just as good, and it uses less fuel.
