@Moose7060 - here’s a buttermilk biscuit recipe for you:
66 cups of flour
32 ounces baking powder
4.5 ounces salt
Handful of sugar
30 eggs
6 +/- quart bttermilk
5 pounds shortening
Makes a lot…..but I still remember that recipe from 40+ years ago.
I made almost a million of them. Cut...
When the time comes, I’ll thicken the stew with a little roux.
Roux is just a fat and flour. I use margarine, butter, olive oil, bacon fat. Whatever’s handy.
Keep some in the freezer all the time. Usually just butter or margarine.
NO!!!
My tech skills are less than my buddy @skeets.
He says he's not good at it, but I think he's sandbagging..... ;)
I haven't a clue what or how to use "ChatGPT, GROK, and all the other AI programs out there."

I was pleased that I could figure out LED equivalents for the tractor's lights.
Looks like a similar method to find starter bolt and stud specs, but much more involved.
Great pointers for all!
This is a situation where I agree with everyone....
In @awesome 's case. Attachments he's owned, and relatively "small" as far a quantity of fluid in them. No way I'd worry about it. (y)
In @mcmxi 's case. Something he bought. No idea what's in it. He has larger equipment...
@Magicman - many thanks.
Will obviously need an oil change after this session so I’ll look for it then. Maybe adjust next session…..and I know there will be one.
Right now just want to put it away…..
33 hours out with temperatures around 40 degrees F….

Mark - appreciate your response.
Thought I was okay, but appreciate your feedback regarding some of the appliances.
I’ve had to replace a couple circuit boards on my pellet stove recently.
We were definitely receiving much less than standard power from the utility earlier today. I figured I...
For some of the new folks, I've gone to a 12 kW portable generator for when we have outages. We've covered all of it in previous thread(s).
It's all a manual hook-up. I need to get the generator outside and hook the 50A connection to it.
It's covered a couple tests and short outages...
PS - know you’ve been terribly dry.
We’ve been dry just lately.
I really wish I could have sent you this. Got about annch of rain yesterday followed by varying amounts of snow depending on elevation.
We were about 4” in valley. Hills got 9-10”.
Either way was probably almost another inch...
That’d be great but it’s above freezing…..we’d have nothing more than a BIG F’n fruit salad with flour and shortening mixed in…..😳😳😉😉
She’s up to 93 pies now; same as last year.
All of them aren’t in that upright freezer but probably 60+ are.
She freezes them and sells them raw and...
Geez, I paid $4.39 for ethanol free today for my generator.
8 hours and 18 minutes run time since 3:30 AM. Restoration time TBD….
Quite a bit of heavy wet snow has caused about 30% of my county to be out of power.
Got to keep the Mrs. pies frozen…..
First time leaving the electric water...
Yes.
Didn’t break anything that I know of, but twisted enough that my wrist and thumb were real sore for a week or more. Was tough carrying hay bales and gripping pitch fork handles when you had to twist it around to bed cows down, etc.
Never said anything to anyone else I’d have other...
Thanks!
Like I said to @nerwin , that old Moline can run you over a couple ways just starting it.
It can get tippy because it's a NFE (narrow front end).
As a tractor without power steering (and NFE), ALWAYS keep your thumbs outside of the steering wheel. Hit a big stone or...
Again - - good to research.
There's a lot of ways to hurt the tractor or yourself when you get it.
Don't ever put either at risk.
I'd say use common sense. Unfortunately sometimes that’s difficult without some exposure/experience.
Modern tractors have a lot of safety mechanisms. Many say...
