Fixing hole in side of block

Joe, I noticed you have frequent need to glue some metal body parts together! Do you have electrical supply in your work area? If so, I'd suggest you get a wire welder. Wouldn't take much and you'd have, easy, clean welds.

    Ballast weights

I helped a neighbor remove an exercise machine from his basement and he gave me the weights. Had an old dirt scoop that I modified to put the weights in.....1000#. The weight is stamped on each weight.

    What would you do?

If you get a zero turn and have a wife that enjoys being outside it's not too difficult to let her do the mowing. My wife got a new Grasshopper a couple of months ago and already has 25 hours on it. When she's bored lately she goes out and shreds leaves. It's cheaper then a psychiatrist! ;)

What's up with some new members?

Geo, you often make a comment about people's religion in your threads when no one else has said anything about it. I remember some time back you made a similar comment about, and stated anyone who thinks they are a Christian and believes in the Old Testament isn't one. Remember that? I...

    Anyone tried Lincoln 5883?

I have not used that specific fitting, but it looks like a version of what I always knew as the "button head grease fitting". Usually used where high pressure is not wanted. I've got a few of these in my fitting collection. Used on the dozer track bearings where you don't want to blow out the...

    The cost of getting old

The title of the cost of getting old.... This has little to do with age, but as time goes on it has become almost impossible to find anyone who can help with small projects.

Fixing hole in side of block

Since you have no tires/wheels to support the tractor you need cribbing under the rear housing (you could install the tires for this) , then more of the same under the front of the transmission. This will support the rear of the tractor when you unbolt the engine. Then place some plywood...
