    M4900 Lift arm height

I would not think that the control linkage should ever have to be adjusted. I am looking at it only because my lift arms are not going high enough. Gotta have 110 lbs of weight to make the adjustment. Water weighs 8 lbs per gallon so I am thinking three 5 gallon buckets minus a bit. We shall...

    M4900 Lift arm height

Thank You for those measurements. You are a full 10" higher than I am so I will now adjust the "position control" linkage. Much rain coming in tonight and all day tomorrow so it will probably be Saturday PM.

    Tachometer died

Just a follow up to say that I replaced the broken tach cable and to say Thanks for the quick responses. This cable broke before I got my WSM so I was kinda shooting in the dark. The old cable had an almost 90 degree bend at the tach head and that is where the inner cable broke. :(

    M4900 Lift arm height

Jim, That adjustment goes back to my original question. I wanted to know the normal down/up travel before I started doing any adjusting. I have mentioned that adjustment in a couple of replies: I am still hoping to hear from a Kubota technician regarding the position control linkage. There...

What kind of chainsaw you have?

My support chainsaws for my sawmilling business are a Stihl MS362 with a 22" & 25" bar and an MS170, 14" bar for quick/light trimming. The farm has an MS310, 20" bar and 028AV, 18" bar.

    M4900 Lift arm height

Cat 2. I have a Speeco Quick Hitch as well as the Pat's attachment. I also have gotten both the Operators Manuals and the WSM for the Kubota. I have used draft control with the JD for many years with the subsoiler so I am familiar with that feature. I am hoping to transfer all of the dirt...

    M4900 Lift arm height

Yes, lowering the lift pins is an option. It would require some welding on the subsoiler, but there may be different holes on the dirt blade, etc. Good Idea.

    M4900 Lift arm height

If it was only the subsoiler, I could probably go with a chain to get me to the field, but there are also other implements. The subsoiler was just what I needed last weekend. I am still hoping to hear from a Kubota technician regarding the position control linkage. There is adjustment there...

    M4900 Lift arm height

My apology BigG. Actually moving the lifting rods both ways proved that both of us were right, just in different ways.

    M4900 Lift arm height

I would really appreciate it Newlyme. I'm at ~10" low and ~27" high. I moved the lifting rods out 5" to the stabilizer bolts. Because of the geometry, that raised the low up 6" but only raised the top 2". Yes, RCW, moving the lifting rods 5" closer to the tractor raises the lift arms 4" top...

    M4900 Lift arm height

No BigG. Your geometry is wrong. Closer to the tractor lowers the lift arms, and away raises the lift arms. I have considered attaching the lifting rods in the same holes as the stabilizers which gives me ~3"-4" of height. The other option is to just use shorter lifting rods which would be...

    M4900 Lift arm height

I am familiar with the 4 top link positions and their affect on draft control. Also that shortening the top link, however way, will have a fulcrum effect on an implement's height. Neither of these will raise the height of the ends of the lift arms which is my question. An implement...

    M4900 Lift arm height

It's not a weight problem, just a height problem. The implement in question is a subsoiler. The JD has much more lift height and I just wanted to know if there was an adjustment in the position control linkage, etc. I have Pat's Quick attach which makes no difference either way, nor does the...

    M4900 Lift arm height

I thought about that but there is not much room to drill another hole. It's sorta crowded as it is and I don't think 1" further out would make much difference.

    M4900 Lift arm height

I have the WSM and page 8-S9 addresses the lift arm adjustment. I just bought the tractor last month so some stuff is still new to me. My issue is that the lift arms don't go as high up as the old JD, which is causing me a problems with a couple of implements. I am hoping that there is a...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Don't overlook the fact that you can Google search for a portable sawmill that can saw lumber or live edge slabs from downed trees. The sawing rate might surprise you. I am kinda sorta retired but portable sawmilling is my part time job.
