Cat 2. I have a Speeco Quick Hitch as well as the Pat's attachment. I also have gotten both the Operators Manuals and the WSM for the Kubota.

I have used draft control with the JD for many years with the subsoiler so I am familiar with that feature. I am hoping to transfer all of the dirt work to the Kubota and keep the planting and logging winch duties with the JD.

Right now I just need to know what is the "normal" lift height for the Kubota so that I can decide which path to take. I don't mind cutting and welding either the existing or new/replacement lift rods if that is my best option.

I would really appreciate it Newlyme. I'm at ~10" low and ~27" high...
I apologize for not getting back to you today. Silly me, didn’t check with the Mrs before I spoke. She had other plans for me tonight.
I will try again tomorrow.

Have you shortened the feedback rod by adjusting turnbuckle so rockshaft rotates as far as it can rotate without opening relief valve when raising 3 pt hitch?

Jim, That adjustment goes back to my original question. I wanted to know the normal down/up travel before I started doing any adjusting.

I have mentioned that adjustment in a couple of replies:

I am still hoping to hear from a Kubota technician regarding the position control linkage. There is adjustment there that is detailed on page 8-S9 in the WSM.

It may be Saturday PM before I will have an opportunity to check the feedback rod adjustment. Maybe before then I will get an answer on what the normal raise/lower distance is.

I would really appreciate it Newlyme. I'm at ~10" low and ~27" high.

I moved the lifting rods out 5" to the stabilizer bolts. Because of the geometry, that raised the low up 6" but only raised the top 2".

Both of the measurements were taken on the non-adjustable side.

Thank You for those measurements. You are a full 10" higher than I am so I will now adjust the "position control" linkage.

Much rain coming in tonight and all day tomorrow so it will probably be Saturday PM.

I have never used mine, or any position control before. Not even sure if mine is working. Let’s us know how you make out with it.
Thanks.

I would not think that the control linkage should ever have to be adjusted. I am looking at it only because my lift arms are not going high enough.

Gotta have 110 lbs of weight to make the adjustment. Water weighs 8 lbs per gallon so I am thinking three 5 gallon buckets minus a bit. We shall see.

I would really like to hear from a tech/mechanic who has made the adjustment because I sorta still have some questions.

Do you have the same tires as I do?
If not that may give you a different measurement.
Sorry about the sideways pictures.

No I have Ag tires, but it would not make that much difference. Your top height is ~10" higher than mine.

* You should see an option to rotate your pictures. One easy thing that I have found is that if you are taking the pictures with your phone, always orient it horizontally and with the home button to the right. That way they are always correct when you post them. ;)

One more point of reference that may help since we have different tires.
My draw bar is 15 3/4” off of the ground where it enters the receiver/tractor.
What’s your height?

It’s funny, using my Android phone I had it figured out for picture orientation but for some reason I can’t upload from my phone anymore.
So to do pictures now I used the IPad. The second set of pictures I rotated the IPad 90 degrees and the pictures are uploaded in the same orientation.:D

I'll put in my 2 cents...

I don't think you'll be able to get any more height adjustment from your Kubokta's 3 point. The option I see is to somehow lower your hitch pins on the subsoiler by welding an extension bracket to the existing ones.

mub; May very well be, but Newlytime has the same tractor and his lift arm height is ~10" higher than mine??

Newlytime; My height is 16 3/4" which is understandable comparing Ag tires vs turf tires.

Oops, I answered without going back and looking at your picture. Yours are the same tires that are on my old backhoe.

When I get some weight (water or whatever) I'm gonna mark and move that position control linkage. The WSM shows using front "suitcase" weights but I have none of those.

I am not in that great of a hurry because my planting is done. I have bushhogging to do but I can handle that because the 8' bushhog is set up with a semi-lift and I have plenty of height to handle that.

In the mean time, I have sawmilling jobs to do before my scheduled knee replacement surgery on November 18th. Yup, this 76 year old guy ain't retired, he is busy.
