    Snow chains for L3800

tirechain.com is a pretty good. I went with ladder chains though. If you want a different type, you might consider a different source. One more thought, some people have local sources that are just as cheap, and it helps to support the local business. Just a bit more to think about and worth...

    Newbie Needs Used Advice

One other thing that I didn’t mention is you should consider sitting on and driving a few tractor models you are interested in. That along with some discussion with salesman was pretty helpful.

Sounds pretty good. I’m glad you got it working.

    Newbie Needs Used Advice

3000 hrs is getting up on hours but shouldn’t be worn out completely. They sell kits to make older loaders quick attach, so that’s a possibility. Used tractors have been going pretty quickly. Take a look at all of the other recent threads about buying. There’s a different thread right now...

    First time tractor buying advice.

I considered some of the same tractors and bought a L2501. I’ll explain my reasoning. I will brush hog, do gravel road maintenance, light loader work, some planting, yard landscaping, and fencing. I’ve been managing my 130 acres for wildlife although I might buy livestock in the future...

Went shopping today for a new B2601HSD

It’s a little larger with a more powerful loader. Same HP but more displacement which equals more torque and more weight. I’d go with the LX. One more difference that you might haven’t considered is the mid mount mower attachment is different. You might take a look at GP Outdoors on...

    Red, Green or Orange??

Good that you are getting close. Be sure to take your time within reason. There will be less selection later in the year if you believe what Neil from Messick’s implied. I guess it depends on the size of what you are buying too, but I think Good Works Tractor youtube guy saying don’t buy...

Shopping for Snow Blowing Turbo Tractor - LX3310?

For sure, turbos and superchargers are better at elevation. My point is that a normally aspirated engine will still work but will only produce less power at elevation due to the density of the air.

Shopping for Snow Blowing Turbo Tractor - LX3310?

You’ll lose power at elevation, but that doesn’t mean you have to have a turbo. You simply need more hp at sea level to make sure you’ll have enough hp at 8000 ft. Any way, if you think 26 would normally be ok, 33 is probably fine at 8000 ft.

Loud pop was scary moving snow.

I was moving some snow today with chains on the front for the first time. I wasn’t doing anything in particular and heard a loud pop. I’ve already heard the controversy regarding using chains on the front, so I was kind of thinking it could have been the front, and I broke my pretty new...

Bucket hooks again ... weld on vs bolt on

I plan to put grab hooks inline with the loader cylinders and create a chain that is a shallow Y. The short chain will go between the two grab hooks with a slip hook in the middle of the approximately 4 foot chain. That setup will have the same effect of a center hook without taking a chance...

Shopping for Snow Blowing Turbo Tractor - LX3310?

You should take a look at GP Outdoors on youtube. He uses a LX2610 cab model with front snow blower and blade. I think that size would be pretty ideal. I can’t imagine you needing a L6060 for just snow work, but I guess it depends on how much else you plan to do. :D Fwiw, GP Outdoors...

Bucket hooks again ... weld on vs bolt on

Could be, but I still only have about 1 1/2 inches to mount them where I want them. In any case, I wanted to make sure that it was clear I wasn’t talking about Ken’s Bolt On Hooks. :D

Bucket hooks again ... weld on vs bolt on

I think I’m deciding to go weld on. I really wanted to like the bolt on, but after taking a look at the bucket again tonight after my Amazon bolt ons showed up, I think the backing plate will be in the way of the quick attach connector if I put them inline with the loader cylinders. I do think...

    Laser cut L2501 floor mats

My mats got here for my L2501 HST today. I have to say the mats are fantastic. Very tough and I can’t wait to use them. I’m definitely another happy customer!

Advice appreciated: tractor size for 20acres

The MX can come with a cab now. The L4701 and the MX rops models aren’t very far apart on price. The MX has a much wider footprint in the front but also the rear. It’s a significant step up from the L4701. One of the dealers in the area said they don’t even get L4701s any more because the MX...

    Windows 10 update

In a lot of rural areas, wired interent won’t ever make sense. However, they could add more capacity and towers to the mobile wireless and let everyone use “cell” modems similar to the ATT Home Internet. They’d only have to run wires to the towers. Bonus, there would be better cell coverage...

    TTWT buys orange

John Deere sent him a letter to make him stop using Yellow in his logo. That would be enough for me to consider going Orange if I was him. Not a green fan, but still that was lame by John Deere.

My tractor didnt come with any components of the 3 point assembly

What parts are you missing? A picture of the rear would help. You can also possibly upgrade a couple of parts while you are at it.
