    A fun day ...

Ouch. I can’t imagine why BXpanded thought cardboard would stop those teeth. I’d personally put the blame on the packager not the carrier, but that stinks either way.

Flat screen TV in a cold garage/shop

I don’t think it will hurt from sitting in there. It’s common for people to store tvs in storage lockers even in cold climates, and we personally had one tv sit over the Winter and it got down below 0 F here. When taken out, it worked fine. That’s a small sample, but it did work. However...

When oil prices go up more what are you....

I expect to pay up, and thank the people for the cause as often as I can. ;) I don’t use that much fuel, so I can absorb where I expect the prices to go.

    Hst or shuttle shift?

No, I don’t hay. I split the hay on my main field with a neighbor. He does the work and sells the hay. He has very large tractors since he hays a few fields in the area.

    Hst or shuttle shift?

Do look at the PTO HP requirements for the hay equipment you want to use. Smaller round bales or larger squares don’t need as much power as a large round bailer. Other than handling large round bales, your current tractor seems to be pretty good for what you are wanting to do.

    Mixing R1s and R4s

You should see if your rims are mounted as far out as possible, load them, and see if you can add weights to your rims. You could also potentially add spacers. I’d check into those first as well as make sure that your tire pressure is near the higher recommended range to prevent the tires from...

    Increasing hillside mowing stability

That’s a pretty good video although the loader is high at 43.5. I wonder why he chose that height for his BX.

    Thinking Green

No, I’m suggesting that science isn’t infallible, and a bad nonworkable solution is no solution at all. If you caught Bill’s interview or part of it, Bill’s suggestion is to not eat meat. We’ll get used to it. It’s politics disguised as science. I’m not saying there isn’t some science...

    Thinking Green

What frustrates many of us is using “science” to promote political agendas. Sure, there may be some facts involved, but in most cases, there’s also a lot of opinion that can easily be turned into humor. ;) Also, consider that Bill Gates has no science degree. In fact, he has no degree at all...

    Internet in the shop

That’s probably true, but it really doesn’t take much bandwidth to stream relatively speaking. Newer tvs and newer streamers are getting really efficient. For instance, I run multiple tvs, ipads, laptops etc off one home mobile internet connection.

    Watch out for your CATS

It really is a shame that the people buying the componts of the cats have zero accountability and are probably making money on the thefts. Make the resales harder, and the thefts would stop.

What does reduce mean in this case?

    Increasing hillside mowing stability

If I was going to try that, I’d probably create some different weight brackets to put the weights lower than even the grill guard also, they’d need more capacity than the standard front weight holder. Just wondering, has anyone seen any results of actually weighing the front/rear or attempting...

    Paying off student dept...

If the $230K for a law degree is worth it, you probably wouldn’t need to justify it. ;) You would know that it’s an investment for the future. How many years before she recovers that cost? The issue is there is mass inflation of costs because people are willing to pay it. That’s ok that you...

    Increasing hillside mowing stability

I found this interesting article that might explain a few things. Also, I found that depending on the size of the tractor and loader, the FEL could hurt or not. For instance, the very small tractors already have a very low COG...

    Increasing hillside mowing stability

I don’t agree that removing the FEL will help the COG of the machine. The FEL and bucket will be much lower than the engine. The FEL will put some weight on the front which will help traction for a 4 wheel drive tractor. If the front end is off the ground, you won’t be steering and just going...

    L2501 Finish/Grooming Mower - FDR2584 too big???

I think it depends on how often you cut and when you start. If you start in the Winter and keep up, you’ll probably not have much of an issue. If you start when it is 3 ft, that will probably be more of a problem. Fwiw, my dealer suggested a 6 ft for my L2501. I expect to mostly mow once per...

    Paying off student dept...

Loan forgiveness is a scam to encourage people to get useless degrees from overpaid professors. I do believe in giving recent graduates more time to start paying if they are having an issue getting a job. If the economy happened to take an extreme downturn, it could be hard for them to pay...

Just bought a BX? Check your front axle fluid!

Just wondering if this is a BX specific issue or not. Scary.

    Loaded tire, now flat

You should check to see if your dealer or local tire shop that does tractors to see if they know someone who will come to your place to fix the tire, and there are other services that will come to fill it. Assuming your tires are about the size of mine, they aren’t light. Good luck.
