    Appropriate lifting location???

I understand your point on this subject. As far as lifting things safely, I think a bigger concern of everyone should be the chains that are being used to lift with the hooks. More of a chance that a cheap HF or the rusty old chain you found at a yard sale could fail WAY before the hooks will -...

    Appropriate lifting location???

Good information. I will keep it in mind when I need to lift 10 tons with the L2501.

    Ordered an L2501 today

I don't know what it would have cost for KTAC. Purchased from a dealer that is not an authorized Kubota dealer and paid cash. We do have it insured for loss on our homeowners. Don't think we could get it from KTAC from what I found when I looked into it. Can I purchase insurance through KTAC...

    Woodpeckers are doin-me-ead-in!

We had that problem a year or so ago. Stuck a mouse trap on top of the mirror with a small piece of double sided tape. Within a few minutes - no more problem.

    Ordered an L2501 today

Yes, it appears that prices are through the roof. We bought a L2501 HST, SSQA with bucket and new set of 42 inch forks January 2022 for $18,500 no tax. Used but like brand new with only 69 hours on it. Paid cash - no KTAC. I'm glad we bought when we did.

    Lumberjack Jacket

Skeets, the clothing I look for on Ebay is no longer available for purchase new. Good quality, USA made vintage to replace things that I really like but are getting tired after decades of use. Have never had a problem with anything so far. Some appear to have never been worn.

    Lumberjack Jacket

I have found some like new USA made clothing on ebay. It may take some time for what you want to turn up, so you need to be patient and check often to get a good purchase.

Is it me or is Kubota becoming overpriced???

January 2022 we purchased a L2501 HST with quick attach that included a new unused set of 42 inch forks. Just under 70 hours and was like new. Bucket looked like it had been lightly used and PTO had never been used. Paid $18,500 no tax. I don't think we could find one for that price now - only...

    Refueling Simplification

Would this work? Don't put all 5 gallons in it to make it lighter to lift. https://www.samsclub.com/p/surecan-5-gallon-diesel-safety-can-type-ii-rotating-spout/P03007199?xid=plp_product_1

    New house/driveway. Boxblade vs landplane?

I have a land plane, box blade, landscape rake and back blade to maintain a 1/2 mile private road. Box blade with scarifiers to fix bad pot holes and low spots first. Land plane with scarifiers does a fantastic job to finish leveling and smooth the long runs. Would not be useful for small areas...

    " Firestarters" for woodstoves ?

Best to get good referrals, verify how the delivery will be measured and quality of the wood before purchasing cut and split. I don't buy wood cut and split, we do our own supply. Sellers probably don't stack it neatly and measure before loading it into a dump truck for delivery - it is probably...

    " Firestarters" for woodstoves ?

The amount of wood you actually get in 128 cubic foot of wood can vary widely depending on if it is tight stacked or loose stacked. A loose stack seller may try to tell you that it is a good thing because it has dried better.

Do you have a vanity plate?

Yes, the car is going to stay in the family this time. Our grandson loves it and our son has promised to never sell it after I am gone.

Do you have a vanity plate?

Wife's car plate is JUNE 20, my truck plate is 20 JUNE, our 48 year old antique car plate is JN20 (only allowed 4 characters on antique plates in our state). We share June 20th birthday and got married on June 20th. She found a Corvette that I had sold 23 years previously and arranged to...

Who's Using a Trickle Charger / Battery Tender?

I have two Schumacher fully automatic battery maintainers. One is used for a 8 or 9 year old battery on an antique car that is stored 6 months each year - that battery works fine every spring. The other one can be used on the tractors and other batteries that are not used regularly to keep them...

Pros and cons of snow removal options

You don't say how long your "long wooded lane" is, but 18 foot of snow a year sure is a challenge no matter what the length. We average 100+ inches per year and had 166 inches in the2008 season. I use a 1/2 ton 4x4 with 7 1/2 foot plow for 1/2 mile private lane and 3 large driveways - no...

    Is this a water well?

Check with your water provider. They should know exactly what property it is for.

    Is this a water well?

It appears to be a "curb box". Ask your water provider to verify what property it is for. It may be the curb stop valve for your residence.

    Vacuum sealers

Whatever machine you end up with, the rolls of bags are the big on-going cost to seal food. I have been buying various widths of rolls from foodvacbags.com for several years now. Quality is same as Food-Saver brand, but cost less. They often have sales and you may be able to find other promo...
