    DIY BH77 Install Journey

My bolt hasn't even shipped yet 😂 I have to call and cancel that. Yeah I was not happy with the $10 shipping fee for one bolt...

    DIY BH77 Install Journey

Wanted to keep this thread updated, got both sides in and torqued. I installed double nuts on the lower ROPS bolt on both sides - those threads seemed pretty rough on the side I completed today as well so figured why not have the extra insurance. Tomorrow I'm gonna get the BH pallet in the...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Thank you! I'm gonna start with some little evergreen stumps 😁 and try to get the hang of it this weekend. First I have to mount the BH and figure out that mess 😂

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

They are loaded and are heavy as hell but manageable. I cheated and scored a 1500lb tire dolly for cheap so I just used that with a ratchet strap around the tire to keep it from tipping. I've seen it done where guys barely jack the tractor up and wiggle the tire off and walk it away. The only...

    DIY BH77 Install Journey

Had 50 minutes of kid/wife-free lunch time today that I decided to use to get a head start on the other subframe. Ended up getting it all done sans the 130mm bolt and m16x1.5 nut I need to replace from my mishap on the other side. I ordered them both from Messicks but il going to run around and...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Had 50 mins kid/wife-free during lunch to get started on the other subframe, ended up getting most of it done. Need to grab a spare 130mm bolt and m16x1.5 nut to wrap up this side. All the bolts are torqued to spec besides the missing bolt and nut.

    50hr service-BX-*AFTER* replacing hydraulic fluid...

I know for ZTRs, you have to jack up the rear end and bleed the system by running it forward and reverse unloaded. I think the same could be accomplished with a tractor by moving the loader joystick and 3pt to purge and then driving it shortly. I would imagine Kubota would add these steps to the...

    Torque calibration

+1 for the beam style torque wrenches. I have a precision instruments (they make snap on and IIRC HF's Icon wrench) and it's been excellent for tractor use. Also, yes, replace the lock washer with a grade 8 or 10 from the hardware store and move on. Was there a washer under that lock washer?

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Me too haha. Honestly if it wasn't for the hose compatibility issue I had with 3rd function and the front loader mount issue, I would have been done in a few days over a weekend. What a PITA this has been.

Installed the more difficult side of the backhoe subframe.

That's a nice dolly, thank you for sharing! I'm thinking 4-6" casters like you have but maybe 2-4 locking. I'm itching to get this backhoe on so I can take measurements. I got the hard side done tonight after work. I did accidentally strip the lower ROPS nut for the 130mm bolt, was threading...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Mounted my loader again on the new RH/original LH mount after torquing to spec yesterday. Took a bit of fumbling because my cylinders were slightly misaligned but I managed to figure it out by "bracing" one side against the loader mount and slowly tweaking the other side to make them even before...

    Pallet Forks

Another vote for Land Pride PFL1242 which exceed the LA535 lift capacity by a small margin and won't cut into your lift capacity by a huge margin.

Had a nice surprise this evening.

Congrats! Have your dealer check your front loader arm mounts to make sure the backhoe subframe brackets aren't upside down (just happened to me). You'll enjoy that LX2610!

    DIY BH77 Install Journey

Used the garage floor, best I could do, still a PITA! Appreciate that, I'm guessing my finished height will be around 7-7.5" based on some research. I decided to hold off on buying materials until the BH is mounted. Dealer called me today, said they'd reimburse me 1 hour shop time for...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Got the loader mount on tonight. Removing the loader was a little PITA, there was definitely a learning curve to it. Mounting the new loader frame mount took some finessing too since most of the weight is far away from the mounting bracket. Once I got a few bolts in, the rest were easy...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Got a call from my dealer, Kubota warrantied the loader mount and paid them out 1 hour labor to install. The dealer is cutting me a check for the labor since I'm doing the install solo. Better than nothing and a good gesture from the dealer to pass it along to me.

    DIY BH77 Install Journey

Agreed, it has been a good learning experience so far. I've got quite a bit of DIY auto wrenching and home renovation background, but have always been nervous about working on the LX. This has taken the apprehension away, it's all nuts and bolts (and some hydraulics) after all. Haha you're not...
