Wolf moon tonight.

"The Wolf Moon, which happens in January, is the year's first full moon. This moon will occur on Thursday, January 25. During this time, winter gets stronger, and people tend to stay indoors. The cold nights around this full moon have been important for spiritual connections for a long time. In the past, people thought there was a connection between the bright moon and the sounds of wolves in the winter forest. The bright full moon and the howling of wolves in January led to people calling it the Wolf Moon."
That certainly was true very early this morning here. The wolves and coyotes were very vocal. Not sure if there is a direct relation or not, but it seems on very bright nights the deer are less active around the house. Spooked by the brightness perhaps? Cheers.

My old 1930 Model A Tudor. Took it grocery shopping on Sundays and while the wife shopped every old timer in the parking lot would come over and chat letting me know they had one, or learned to drive on one, or their pappy had one. Heard lots of great stories. View attachment 121063 View attachment 121064 Should have kept it but had an offer I couldn't refuse.

you said you took it grocery shopping but at the bottom you said you should have kept it. What did you sell it?? Beautiful car sir. I’ve had quite a few of them myself. I currently have a 31 fourdoor highboy

Used it many years for Sunday outings, mainly grocery shopping and special
events. Eventually sold it as we were moving far away. Enjoy your Highboy, it's a beauty.

Ahh. Yeah sometimes it’s just better to pass something on for someone else to enjoy. But she was a beauty. I’d love to restore one and have it all painted up. But they are only original once. So I feel bad touching mine

In April of 2003 I flew from Hawaii to New York and stayed for a night at the Hyatt Regency near Central Park (brother-in-law sorted it out since he was a GM at another Hyatt). Next morning I was picked up by an individual who owned a used car business on Long Island, among other things. I had flown out there to pick up a used Lexus SC400 that I planned on driving across country and shipping back to Hawaii from San Francisco. My wife drove that car for a couple of years before we sold it for more than we paid for it. I made two more road trips between 2004 and 2007 to pick up used cars. One was a Lexus LS400 that I drove from Houston to San Francisco, and another was an Audi Allroad that I drove from Marietta, GA to San Francisco.

This morning I was looking for a document and found these photos that I took in Nevada on that almost 3,500 mile trip with stops at Mount Rushmore, Devil's Tower, Yellowstone National Park, Craters of the Moon Park etc.

Notice the cost of gas and diesel in Nevada in 2003.

Hey, you were in my neck of the woods! Those mountains are along US Highway 95 that runs from Winnemucca, Nevada to Boise, Idaho. That Chevron station is now Sinclair...and you can add about $2 to each price to be current! I posted current pics of those mountains a few posts above.

I thought those mountains looked familiar! :ROFLMAO: I always enjoy your photos. I was on my way to Boise to see a friend but he had me go through Arco to pick up two trays of peach cobbler at Granpa's Southern Bar-B-Q. Talking of cheap gas, this was the price in West Yellowstone in April of 2003.

I was in Illinois all last week for work and took a photo of a new 40'x60' shop that's going up on the property. I asked the guys doing the work how big it is and took the photo to document the size, and caught a nice sunset too.

The flight from Moline to Denver yesterday morning is supposed to take about 1 hour and 45 minutes but after three hours in the air we finally landed in Colorado Springs. Denver airport wasn't allowing planes to land due to bad weather. We sat on the plane in Colorado Springs for five hours waiting for the weather to clear. We finally got into Denver 9-1/2 hours later! I took this photo on the flight into Denver as we cut off a Southwest plane that had taken off in front of us in Colorado Springs.

The bottom photo shows a United plane that we seem to be passing. By the way, the captain on this flight was a drop-dead gorgeous blonde who looked to be late 20's early 30's. I mean a seriously gorgeous woman who was very professional, and who clearly had mastered the controls of that aircraft.

Lovely sunrise this morning. I never think that a cell phone camera does the lighting any justice but here are three shots. The mountain in the background is around 6,500ft elevation.

Very nice!

Don't know anything about MT - do you know approx. elevation (AMSL) of the valley floor in center of pics?
Valley floor is around 3,000 ft elevation. My house is at 3,200 ft. Most of the Flathead Valley is around 3,000 ft elevation.

By the way, I remember reading something to the effect that Mount Haskill is the largest privately owned mountain in Montana. It's a ranch I think.

Cool - thanks. Our glacial river valleys in upstate central New York are generally about 1,000 feet

We have hills, but nothing like the mountains you have.

Our highest elevations in the vicinity are about the same as your valley.
