CVT vs. Automatic Transmission in car

I would certainly recommend a Toyota Rav-4 but would get the non-hybrid that has an 8 speed automatic transmission. Have heard very little positive about CVT transmissions up here and to expect to replace it once it has reached about 150,000 kilometers. My wife has a 2013 Toyota Camry and...

    Chain saw chain sharpeners

I have for years just put the bar in a vice so I can spin the chain freely and just sharpen the teeth freehand with a stone in my Dremel tool. If you are gentle a stone will do at least one chain.

Kitchen and Bath Faucet Manufacturers - Your Favorite?

I think the insurance companies are still thinking it is like the grey plastic piping that was the first attempt at replacing copper many years ago. I remember seeing write-ups in plumbing magazines in the 80's regarding the issue. The pipe itself was fine but the fittings had a habit of...

Kitchen and Bath Faucet Manufacturers - Your Favorite?

I also agree with the Moen crowd. I did install American Standard in a bathroom that I renovated a few years ago since my wife preferred the style. They were not the solder type and one fitting split a day after I installed the male fitting into it. Another split a year later. I ended up...

    Zero Turn Mower

Just recently purchased an Ariens IKON XL60 (Huskavarna parent Co). Paid just over $6000 including tax for it up here so would be considerably less in the USA. Very well made with a good solid deck and commercial hydros. Available with a Kohler 25hp engine(mine) or a Kawasaki. The only issue...

B7200hst voltage regulator replacement- How to get steering wheel off?

Had to remove the steering wheel on my B7200 for the first time last fall. Ended up fabbing up a proper puller.

    B8200 suction line issues?

Sounds like it was the same seal as mine. I opted to change the entire pump as the shaft end was extremely worn.

    B8200 suction line issues?

When you say hydro pump seal are you talking about the seal from the pump to suction line? I had the shaft seal go on mine six years ago which filled the crankcase with hydraulic oil. Ended up replacing the pump.

    B7200 re-paint/mixing suggestions

I think that your issues are temperature related. If you live where I think you do the temperatures have been quite cool lately and your parts are outside. It is recommended to paint above 60 deg F especially without hardeners. I have only painted outside in the summer and under shade. My...

How long can I safely idle with radiator removed?

Wondering how you were going to be able to remove the shaft. I would just take what ever coupling is the most suitable and have it turned to the correct size to match the shaft.

How long can I safely idle with radiator removed?

If you are trying to turn down the shaft with an angle grinder you will regret it afterwards. I would try to make any alterations with the coupling first like making the coupling match the existing shaft.

    B7200 re-paint/mixing suggestions

I have resorted to using Trem-clad Real Orange up here. Made by Rustoleum so might be called something else in the USA. It is extremely close to the original paint on my 7200. Used it recently after I had to repair the dipper on my backhoe and add thumb. You can hardly see the difference and...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Just replaced the front axle pivot pin and bushings on my B7200. Front bushing I removed with a home made tool similar to a slide hammer. Installed the new bushings using a threaded 5/8" shaft and impact wrench. Also installed extra shim to eliminate any slop forward and back. After over 2000...

    Homemade Power Steering Issue

When I installed the factory power steering on my B7200 over 30 years ago it included an additional hydraulic block that piggy-backed to the block where the loader hoses attach. It accommodated the pressure line that went to the push-pull valve mounted on the cylinder. The return line went to...

    COVID-19 Stuff

I used the latex gloves but really thought I could easily get cross contamination from them. I now have nothing on my hands and wash often or use sanitizer. If I have to pick something up or get gas for the car I slip on cotton gloves and remove when I am done. The gloves are then either...

    Enclosed Pole Barn

Your codes must be different than what we have up here in Ontario (Canada). I recently finished a large non residential two story shop which was constructed similar to residential with insulated walls and drywall throughout. Electrical wiring was done using residential specs inside the walls...

Got an issue looming that could change your life...

On the news today they stated that they will be checking on who was sitting in the immediate area around this infected person on the plane. This seems ridiculous as in my opinion at a bare minimum everyone on the flight should be checked and quarantined if necessary. On another report one...

    B7200 - power steering?

Pictures I found that I was able to attach. Same valve/actuator assembly as I have. My return hose goes under the left floor board and attaches under the seat while the pressure line snakes under the tractor to the other side and connects to the new hydraulic block. This block went under the...
