Here's another thought check your timing marks flywheel ( Crank to Cam ) If the key has sheared and now fires after top dead center even a few degrees it will over heat during a full load like mowing with wide open throttle demand. Just a thought I could be full of it too!!!!!!!!!

ZD21-60 Engine Noise warning to owners

 While mowing my flat pasture in 6 inch tall grass under full load, I heard a terrible horrifying noise clear through an earmuff head set listening to 'boss' singing about turning 60 yrs young and joining the AARP, a ratching metal to metal noise that sounded like the HP injection pump cam...

    PTO clutch frozen to flywheel

Okay here's what I think is going on. Look down at your clutch petal and find the retainer nut on the turn buckle attached to the clutch rod petal. ( note engine off PTO shifter in the up positon ) Check free play and adjust by backing the nut off the rod and turn the buckle to a free play of 1...

The only place to get a true manual is through a Kubota Dealer :). All the current revisions will be added and the cost will not be cheap. Google http://www.messicks.com/ for the best price. ;) Now for your immediate need to find the dip stick for the transmission. If you have one it will be...

    NewB Question

You probably did the right thing for your location but some of Brady Barlows deals are for real. Carver Equipment in Dunn, NC used to make fantastic deals over the Internet until the Dealer Council starting raising H over a trend that lowered Dealer margins regionally. They have been told to...

    UDT or Super UDT?

While I agree with Vic on temperature and viscosities, SUDT is about how quick it gets there and what it does once there. On the molecular level you are lubricating metal to metal components that are reciprocating, rotating and compressing under great pressures. I have always found in mechanical...

What passage or part of the block is behind this casting hole???

Works kits contain new pistons, rings, bearings, liners, o-rings and gaskets on wet block engines. This is the advantage of doing an inframe engine rebuild. Maybe because this isn't an industrial kubota engine they aren't available. I'm sorry I don't know for sure :o

    workshop manuals on CD

I bought a bunch of these "Pirate" CDs for parts manuals on my fleet stuff and they were so outdated that they were worthless unless you are into history with no revision of parts or upgrades from Kubota Service Engr. don't waste your money the OEMs are bad enough..... :D you ought to see my...

    Hydraulic Hose Failure?

No one likes touching this stuff even in a forum of friends but if I were you, I'd purchase the Works Shop Manual for your serial number and go ahead and drop the oil eventhough you are below the 200 hour hydraulic service interval and strain the fluid for metal. Examine the return oil strainer...

    L2600 Neutral switch

J..... I was able to adjust the white slotted lever by simply backing the 1/4 nut off centering the rabbit/ turtle level and closing the internal micro switch and then retightening the little nut and now it stays closed when in neutral position. :)This is a simple N/C normally closed micro...

    L2600 Neutral switch

J for short I will get a hold of Tim Honeycutt at Carver Equipment and check price and availability of this plastic switch. I looked at the schematic last night in the works shop manual and discovered that this switch is in series with the PTO safety switch and both report to a relay (N/O) that...

What passage or part of the block is behind this casting hole???

Then the rust ring at the base of the liner must be from a failed liner O-ring seal(s). UT the block and if sound, I'd check with Kubota Industrial Engines for a works kit and put her back in action....also ask about DCA additive for anti-cavation to prevent liner pitting with extended coolant...

What passage or part of the block is behind this casting hole???

Wow that's an older engine I'm not familar with. Is this a true 'wet' liner block? I can't tell by the photos but suspect it is the typical grey iron bored that may not be worth your time and money unless you absolute need it for a numbers matching show tractor...
