Not enough alternator on my L4060?

The only thing not stock are the two LED cube lights, each drawing 26w. I wired them to the battery via a fused link, with a relay off the factory “side lamps” switch, so I didn’t need to add an extra switch. I don’t think it’s reasonable to have to run at high RPM all the time just to maintain...

Not enough alternator on my L4060?

So here we are, one year later. Tractor performed well all year. I added a set of LED cube lights and retained all the stock lights. Operating at night in the summer while mowing was fine...probably because the engine was being run at PTO speed the whole time. But two days ago we got 3 feet of...

OK, So I do not need a new tractor! But a excavator? Maybe...HELP!

For the purpose of digging, a mini-ex is far superior to any backhoe. They have power and incredible maneuverability. The smaller ones can still be transported behind a pickup. Kubota is the gold standard for mini-ex machines, in my opinion. A friend just bought a brand new KX-040; I've run a...

What Is Correct Procedure / Bucket Position When Parked In Garage

Is there literally some kind of mechanical lock that prevents the loader from moving on your TLB? If you're referring to the little lock on the loader joystick, all that does is prevent the joystick itself from moving but won't prevent eventual leakdown.

What Is Correct Procedure / Bucket Position When Parked In Garage

Nearly 20,000 miles a year on a bike, every year for 50 years? That's impressive. Most people won't do that in a car. I fairly consistently ride my Harley about 5k per year, rarely more, sometimes less.

Glow Plugs - How Long Do You Keep Them "ON" Before Cranking The Engine ?

The modern tractors with common rail electronic fuel injection all have automatic glow plug timers on them as others have mentioned...turn the key to the first position and wait for the light or symbol on the LCD to disappear; then crank and start. Some other non-electronic tractors might have...

What Is Correct Procedure / Bucket Position When Parked In Garage

If inside, the bucket sits flat on the floor. If outside, I tip the bucket down so the cutting edge is touching the ground and nothing else. This prevents the bucket from filling with water if it rains. I'm not terribly concerned with where I leave the bucket when I park.

Proud owner of a new M5660

I've owned a bunch of Kubotas...B series, L series, two Grand L, and one MX. The Grand L has an amazing HST transmission; Kubota calls it HST-Plus. That said, your tractor is beefier than any Grand L. My older Grand L has a GST "Glideshift" transmission which had 12 speeds which could be shifted...

Proud owner of a new M5660

The Kubota "standard L" series like the 3301 you tried out, has for whatever reason a pretty loud hydro whine. That goes for the 2501, 3301, and 3901. However, the larger "Grand L 60" series from the 35HP to 60HP range have basically silent hydros. The MX series of tractors with the HST...

    HST rocker pedal aftermarket kit?

You'll get used to it. I wear a size 15 and have owned the following HST treadle-pedal Kubotas: B2920, L2501, MX4800, L4060. It soon becomes second nature. I hated it first, doesn't bother me at all now.

    Interesting discovery

If you don't subject your tractor to anything more than mowing on gently sloped land, it probably won't have a problem without the fan. I've had my B-series (which has a conventional hydraulic cooler in front of the radiator and engine fan) working so hard the hydraulic HST fluid was puking out...

    Plowing with a B series

I owned a B2920 and it was a tough and reliable tractor. I flail-mowed 30 acres with it, twice a year, for many years. Many people said that was insane. It took longer than with a larger tractor and mower, yes...but it got the job done. I was very pleased with all the work I got out of that...

Temporary power steering loss on nearly new L4060

It has done it to me since brand new, but to answer your question...yes. My tractor was subjected to the recent Kubota recall for an improperly tightened HST bolt; during the procedure the dealer replaced both hydraulic filters at my request. No change in power steering.

Temporary power steering loss on nearly new L4060

Thanks SDT. The power steering on my previous MX4800 was night and day better. I wondered if the lesser horsepower tractors in the Grand L 60 range had the problem but not the higher HP models. Apparently not. Kind of a shame on a very nice tractor; I will also live with it.

Temporary power steering loss on nearly new L4060

I now have about 200 hours on my L4060 HSTC which I bought a year ago. Ever since new, I notice at times when rapidly steering (say trying to turn around in a tight spot...turn hard one direction and pull forward, then rapidly turn hard the other way and back up)...it suddenly feels like you...

Hydraulic fittings on loader won’t go back on

BAP seems to be correct. Today is a cooler, cloudy day and the fittings went right on. I did come prepared with a flat bolt to fit the conical pioneer valve to tap on, but no need. Now just fighting to get the loader pins aligned. Thanks for the help.

Hydraulic fittings on loader won’t go back on

I'd like to, but the problem is I'm on another site until 12:30 today. I'll try that first though!

Thanks Flip...I’ll try it tomorrow when I’m back on site.

Hydraulic fittings on loader won’t go back on

I have taken the loader on and off without issue several times on my one year old L4060. I had taken it off two days ago, and in trying to put it back on two of the four hydraulic quick connects will not go back on. They are the bucket curl and dump fittings. All of the valves are free on the...

B2601 Treadle Pedal hard to use

I'll take the tractor off your hands for awhile and use reverse a lot to get it broken in for you! Haha, just kidding. Heck, the pedal on my Kubota MX4800 was so soft it would stick in forward and I'd have to manually push it into reverse to get it to stop. I'd have to wiggle the pedal to get it...
