    Ground speed estimation

I'm spoiled with a Grand L that has a speedometer and push button cruise control. I use it when I spread pelletized fertilizer.

    NC weighted tags

What if the one ton truck towing 35,000lbs only makes one trip per month? Or what if that truck makes a daily trip, but it only involves 4 miles of public roads? What if a Camry driver puts 20k a year on? This isn't right. Furthermore, how much of registration money actually is used to pay for...

    Cold Diesel Fuel?

Keep in mind adding anti-gel when its already cold out does nothing. Anti-gel must be added prior to the temps getting below zero or near zero in order for it to work properly. I'm told putting some in the truck right at the pump and then filling up is best, for both the mixing action and the...

Here's why you wear a seat belt with ROPS system

Was riding my snowmobile across a lake last weekend, and hit a soft spot where slush about 10" deep formed between the top layer and an ice layer below. Definitely wakes you up!

Here's why you wear a seat belt with ROPS system

Ah, you must be one of those people who don't own a "real" tractor, lol.

Here's why you wear a seat belt with ROPS system

If you go into water, the key is remaining calm and knowing that while you are in imminent danger, there is a procedure that needs to be completed in order to save your life. You need to wait for the (cab) tractor to come to a rest first. Hopefully minimal water will enter the cab during the...

Here's why you wear a seat belt with ROPS system

By the way, I missed this forum for a month or two and see SideCarFlip is banned. What happened this time?

Here's why you wear a seat belt with ROPS system

I use my Kubota mowing very steep slopes commercially - graded capped landfills, reservoir dams, etc. I've used both open and cab tractors, and often thought about the pros and cons of wearing a seat belt. The *only* con I can see is if the tractor rolls into water. When I mow the top of a...

Grand L 4060 HSTC initial review

I looked at mine again. The tab for the grab handle is welded to the pillar, but the handle screws into the tab. With the vinyl covering, it looks like it is one piece, but you are correct. Sounds good! When I bought mine, only the 3560 LE was available. If the 4060 had been offered LE, I...

Grand L 4060 HSTC initial review

Isn't the grab handle welded to the pillar? Not impossible for sure, but not bolt-on. Does the 12v require a whole new plastic tray piece or is there a pop-out for it? I actually use my 12v plug. The mirrors are definitely worth it. Useless at night, but very useful during the daytime.

    L3560 limited vs l4060

It's a great tractor. The stickers look fine. Enjoy!

    L3560 limited vs l4060

I noticed at the dealer one other thing you "lose" on the Limited Edition tractors...the model designation lettering on the hood is a raised relief on the regular models, and a flat sticker on the Limited models. Not that it matters, but I just noticed it!

Grand L 4060 HSTC initial review

Sounds like an awesome machine. In my opinion, the 4060 is worth it for 4-cylinder power vs 3-cylinder. The 4 cylinder is smoother and makes more torque; its actually the same engine used all the way through the L6060, just without the turbocharger the more powerful models employ. With the LE...

Grand L 4060 HSTC initial review

I've thought about it, but I've never had one on a tractor. It always starts, and I am running full synthetic Rotella T6 in it. My pickup truck gets plugged in when the temps drop to near zero or lower at night, but that is something I use every day. The tractor, in the winter, pretty much only...

Grand L 4060 HSTC initial review

Hey countryx, I have used this machine to plow snow quite a bit. I'd say the best thing is the enclosed cab which keeps you both warm and out of the wind and snow. Wipers work fine in this application to keep the snow clear. Warm-up times are long, and Kubota recommends long warm up times mostly...

Not enough alternator on my L4060?

Thanks a lot 200mph. My LED cubes are not the cheap Chinese ones. They are Baja Designs Squadron Sports and cost $120 per cube. Spectacularly bright. I do agree a modern tractor should move to LED lighting, and Kubota is starting to on newer models. The Grand L 60 series is an old model though.

Not enough alternator on my L4060?

I took the heated seat pad out in the summer and have not replaced it. Ran fine yesterday, but did not operate it at night.

Not enough alternator on my L4060?

My headlights are 55w/60w just like a car. With the bucket lowered they are pretty effective.
