Problem with using 4wd all the time?

If there is no reason to take the tractor out of 4wd why was it built to do so? It would be cheaper to leave the needed levers, etc off the machine. I had a MF 1528 that was poorly designed and I broke the front axle off when I hit a hidden bull hole in a field. In order to repair the 4wd it...

    Box Blade Recommendations

I traded some hay for a 12 foot crane spreader bar made from an I-beam. I do not know how much it weights but is every thing the L2501 will pick up. I have used it with a chain to each end and spread apart at the attachment point on the tractor so it will keeps itself perpendicular to the...

    Cleaning ash from wood stove

You all could be throwing out something of value if you are into gardening. We always spread the ash into the garden or flower bed but my mother was the expert on which plants it would help. I do not remember.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Why not tie down the rear at the hitch? The tractor is small enough that 3 points are more then enough to hold it in place.

    Dump trailer recommendations?

I have a 14 foot Appalachian which comes out of Ohio. Some things that I have learned. If the hinge is to far forward then the rear end of the trailer will hit or come near the ground when you dump it. As stated earlier when you dump you must move forward to get the load off of the trailer...

    Battery life

If you look on the battery there is a manufacturing date stamped on to the case. You then know when to reach to the back of the rack to get a fresh one.

    Where does your tractor sleep?

Does any one have a problem with moisture coming up from the ground and damaging the covered machine? Do you place a ground cloth down first? Does the tarp touching the hood etc. cause any damage due to the moisture?

Disc Harrow size limit for L2501

The turn buckles are correct. There is only one nut on each. Speaking of turn buckles you need to either pick up the disk at every turn or purchase the inter connecting pin type Kubota Accessories: Telescopic Stabilizer Kit, Part # L8430. The turn buckles will not take the strain of the disk in...

Disc Harrow size limit for L2501

Looks good ! It looks like you may be able to move the gangs toward the center which would improve the cut in the center of the disk. The back looks to be wide in the pictures.

Disc Harrow size limit for L2501

Please do not use a person for a weight on a harrow or disk. It looks harmless but the injures caused by a disk can be deadly. Instead if extra weight is needed add a log or a piece of ibeam and wire tie it to the disk.

Help with lever and fulcrum math

Just wondering if you should or could turn the winch 90 degrees. Since you are pulling the arm up with the cable at an angle will the cable want to bunch up at the right side of the spool over time? If you turn it 90 degrees the cable could work across the spool. Are you using a sling to get up...

CRAZY TRAIN has gone OFF THE RAILS

Re: Man Made Global COOLING?! First there is not enough data to predict the end of the earth as these drama queens want to preach. The earth has gone through countless cycles of heating and cooling. As it has already been brought up, 40 years ago the world was going to be frozen solid in very...

Help with lever and fulcrum math

It has been a long time since physics class but I wanted to try. 21- 2.75 = 18.25 in. 18.25 x 160 = 2,920 in.lb 2,920 / 2.75 = 1062 lb 1062 / 2 = 531 lb on each end of the trolly It is not 100% but it is close enough so you know how to build it.

Disc Harrow size limit for L2501

You could remove the entire row of the disk and be able to pull it over some very rough ground with half the set. Then after several passes reattach the gangs to smooth the ground out. Also since it is a 3 point hitch you may be able to just shorten the top link so that you do most of the...

    L3901 4 in 1 loader bucket capabilities

Since you know all why do you bother to ask the questions? The 4 in 1 is a useful tool? Sure it is. Is it all that useful on a smaller tractor maybe not so much. The weight of the 4 in 1 reduces the lift capacity of your tractor about 13%. That means and extra trip every 9 trips. Not a big deal...
