kubota engine blocks (( need help))))

As far as I know all engine blocks are cast iron. Have never heard of any that are cast steel. I have run across other stuff that used cast steel, but never engine blocks? Kubota does use a very high quality cast iron.

    l3800 transmission noise

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I'm glad I got the gear drive in my 3800, after hearing about the noisy HST. This tractor is a blast to use. I love it!

    front wheel shimmy, L245H

A little toe-in should fix it. My old L245 used to do the same thing on pavement, but not too much on dirt.

Mystery Part that I can't find

Yes, I believe that is were the mystery part goes. You really don't want dirt or water getting in the axle mount bushing.

Mystery Part that I can't find

Ron, I just spent $1200 on the front end of our L3750. Not sure if that part is needed or not, but if it was me, I'd likely get it. It probably keeps dirt and stuff out of the axle support bushing. The oil leak is likely the pinion seal and it's easy to replace while your in there. Good luck!

Finally got a Kubota ... got some ??s

I would just change fluids and filters and make sure it has fresh fuel. Maybe add injector cleaner fuel supplement. Then put some hours on it...

Take the filter to a NAPA store, they'll be able to match it up.

    Replacing Oil Pan Gasket

Ron, I'm not sure if your FEL sub frame is like the one on my 3750. But mine as a cross member that can be unbolted to get out of the way. There was no way to remove the drive shaft with it in place. Can yours be unbolted, or is the frame all one piece? Anyway, good luck with it.

Finally got a Kubota ... got some ??s

Oh and make sure you grease the front axle pivot mounts. I just went through a nightmare with the front end on our old 3750, from lack of grease in the right places...

Finally got a Kubota ... got some ??s

Welcome! What Vic said about the hydro and tires. Your Bota looks good for it's aged. I had a L245 2wd back in the 80s' and 90s'. It was a great little tractor!

    L3800 oily exhaust residue

I looked at JD before I bought my 3800 and they had nothing for me in that price range. Like Kubotaman said, get the temp up for a while and you'll be good to go.

    L2550 fan not turning

I would sure hope a tractor owner knew if he had antifreeze, or not, in his tractor. If that's not the prob, then likely time for a water pump...

    New Kubota in my future?

My first 3 tractors were 2wd, a small Power King, a L245, then a Case/David Brown 50ish HP w/FEL. All 3 worked great and had their good and bad issues. The Power King was just too small. The L245 was a good tractor that saw 2000+/- hours with a 5' bush hog and a box blade, but was a bit too...

    New Kubota in my future?

Yeah, nothing wrong with fancy either. :D I haven't notice the jerky 3PH, mine seems pretty smooth. But the exposed steering linkage is a concern. Our old 3750 has the same type steering though and haven't torn it up yet. Just got to watch out for stumps and big rocks. Operator platform fits me...
