    L3130 tie rod boot

I used an o-ring pick with a hook on the end.

    Folding ROPS

That's what I'm considering doing. My property is all flat except for some slopes on the back side of the house that are no more than 15°. I can easily fabricate a joint that will be stronger than the original tubing with some 1/4" steel plate. Besides, my BX has filled rear tires, so that...

    BX Battery Cover Repair

One of the tabs on the battery cover that fits into the bulkhead was broken off, and allowed the cover to bulge out, which bothered me a lot. So, after looking at it and measuring the size and location of the tab, I designed a replacement tab in Tinkercad and printed it out on my 3D printer. I...

    Folding ROPS

Yes, it's a BX2230, not sure, but those dimensions sound close. No, I really don't want to take it off. Some of the trees I can trim, but a few of the others aren't tall enough to trim that high yet. Problem is I have over 70 trees on my property.

    Folding ROPS

Gee, I didn't expect this kind of responses. Maybe what I'll do is have my local welding shop build me a new one that is low enough for my needs. that way, I can keep the original unmolested. As for the legal aspect, if someone buys it and is informed that it has been modified, and signs a...

    Folding ROPS

Has anyone here modified the ROPS on a BX model so that you can fold it down? I don't want to remove it, but I'll have to trim a lot of trees to get it under them. I am considering using some 1/4" plate to make a hinge that would be at least as strong as the original structure. Any ideas or...

    Pick-up tool mounts

Nope, not stupid questions at all. Okay, here is how I designed and printed it out. I use and online CAD tool called Tinkercad. It is by the same people as AUTOCAD, one of the standards for CAD. With Tinkercad I used one of the stock components, which is a square tube which you can modify...

    Pick-up tool mounts

It took about 3 1/2 hours to print, doing both pieces at the same time. I printed it using 25% infill and 3 layers on the top, bottom and sides to make it strong, so it took a little longer.

What isn’t WiFi or Bluetooth these days

Just my $.02 worth, but do we really need a water heater with WiFi? Really? Having been involved with computers and tech for almost 40 years, I'm no Luddite, but the current trend of making every doodad and thingamabob web enabled, just makes it more expensive, more complicated to set or use...

    Pick-up tool mounts

That's the nice part about a 3D printer, you can make a part and if it isn't just right, a little tweaking to the design, and you can print another one for a few cents in material. I bought mt QIDI Tech 1on Amazon last year about this time (Christmas present to myself) and so far I have about...

    Pick-up tool mounts

Thanks D2. I have to admit, I'm always looking for some doodad I can make with the printer. Who knows what new accessory I'll come up with next for the Kubota. No, not a Walmart bag, a Tractor Supply or Big R bag, they're sturdier and classier. :D

    Pick-up tool mounts

I have a pick-up tool to pick up trash when I'm mowing my yard. Seems a lot of people seem to think my yard an the adjacent roadside is their personal landfill. So, I carry this on my BX tractor when I mow, and I didn't have any place or a way to stow it when not in use, so I came up with these...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I installed the silicone tie rod seals I bought from Specialty Repairs in Canada. It was pretty easy and they should keep the moisture out of the joints. The original boots were all torn and one was completely gone. I used safety wire to secure the small ends of the inboard boots. Worked better...

Chili Contest Note: Please take time to read this slowly. If you pay attention to the first two judges, the reaction of the third judge is even better..The notes are from an inexperienced Chili taster named Frank, who was visiting from Springfield, IL. Frank: "Recently, I was honored to be...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Mounted a pair of Titan 5/16 chain hooks on the bucket of my BX2230. I bought them on Amazon and welded a 1 1/2" piece of 2" X 4" tube to them so the would clear the top lip of the bucket. I also made a couple of reinforcing plates for inside the bucket out of 1/4" X 2" strap. Sand blasted...

    Brush Guard Ideas

I had a local Amish machine shop bend the tubing for the brush guard, I think it looks pretty good. I'm working on getting the Kubota logo cut in the plate for it at a laser shop. Once I get that, I can get it welded up and painted. Should look pretty good.

    Using Anti-Gel

    You got it right, 0.084 liters (84 cc) is correct. 1 x ----- = ---- 500 42 (liters in 11 gallons) Simplifying to: 500x = 1 X 42 42 X= ----- = 0.084 500 It's only been about 50 years since my last algebra class, but I use it all the time to solve...

    Loader valve float

Not D2, but it should have a hole in the plug in the cap in the end of the detent cover. The old one did, but it was plugged with rust. The new one I put on has a small hole, probably 1/32" in the cap in the end of the cover. I lubed the spring assembly on the end of the spool very liberally...
