$1400 is ridiculous. I paid about $500 for four weights and two mounting kits. My stuff is not Kubota branded and I did the installation. Maybe check with other dealers if lower cost weights can be ordered.

The tie rod maybe bent. I bent mine and my old Kioti tractor. I centered up the steering, Measured forward edge front tire L to R and repeated measuring rear edge front tire L to R. I used a come along to pull the bend out to where the tire measurements were close to the same.

I also own a ZD323 purchased in 2009. My opinion, the owners manual is outdated and does not reflect that the newer CK-4 standard oils are backward compatible with older non emissions compliant diesel engines. You should be fine.

Have you had a chance to look up lubricating/greasing the steering cable assembly? Old grease on a push/pull steering cable system can add to steering effort. Does your boat steer easy both directions when stopped or on the trailer?
