Wife ran into a stump and bent the king pin metal bar piece that looks like a 2 x 6 steel rectangular bar. Wheels are now facing in opposite directions when trying to steer. Can this rectangle by bent back straight in order to re-use? New part is expensive. Tie rod is also bent but going to replace that.

Please post tractor model number. A couple of pictures (If you can) would also be helpful.

That depends on how bad it's bent and how good your skills are at metal parts repairs.

You may be able to find a body shop or a metal working shop that could fix it.

usually if it is rectangular tube one wall collapses into the other and it is nearly impossible to straighten it without replacing the bent section.

have you looked into new or used replacement parts?

It's a flat bar not tube. Will check around..MAY not need to repair it..have to replace rod and check first.

open end wrench on the 'nut' flats
socket on the real nut use 'handle extender,
quick 'ker-ack', it'll come apart
seen worse(do NOT ask.. ;) .)
yes...big vice, pipe wrench(with 'extender' )
you should be back 'on the again', in an hour or so...
..which is cheaper and faster than buying online....

That's a super easy fix.
I thought it was the axle tube that was bent.
To fix that just remove the tire rod put it on a block and beat it back to straight.
With the tie rod off the king pin, put a pipe wrench on the the bend bar and bend it up.
You only need to get it close to straight for it to be workable!

Well have to buy a new tie rod end joint. Broke off the tie rod trying to get it off as well as an internal extractor. That F...er will not come off.

Will try the bend bar suggestion after I get the rod end. Thanks

Fixed. Now the only other thing is , it takes about 10 seconds of the starter turning to get the engine to start when cold.
I have to glow my TG1860 even in the heat of a summers day (first start only)

Have you verified your glow plugs are actually functioning and/or are you using them?

(Id' suggest starting a new thread with a better subject line btw)
