    Turning a tractor over

for what its worth, Our bobcat went shinny side down once. After flipping it back over we should have let it sit and inspected the air intake. Why? because oil from the breather flowed into the air box and when started it created a run away engine. Turning the key off does nothing. We loaded...

    Box blade as a dozer

I wanted to thank you for putting me at ease. The box blade manual indicated it can be used that way. I was just unsure if I needed to watch out for any damage to the 3 point. I do take it slowly and it all seems to work well. I have seen other trades doing it with their Massey "grader special"...

How about a bucket level rod?

I just got a bucket level from my dealer. I put it on Friday. Should have an idea how it works next week

    Box blade as a dozer

Do you guys ever use your box blade as a dozer to push dirt? I did it yesterday to make a been and it worked well. I ripped the ground to loosen it then backed up to make a berm about 8 to 10 inches high. I did 10 building pads like this so they could be soaked. Am I setting myself up for damages?

    Newbie to newbie

When I got my tractor to the yard I played with it some. Then I used a auto detailing spray that I use on my "cool cars". I detailed the tractor top to bottom. It's a good way to get to know the equipment. Then review the manual with the nice clean equipment. Coincidentally enough, one of the...

    Newbie to newbie

I have gotten good advice here and from the manual. I wanted to share my experience. At 10 hours, per the manual I checked the torque on the lug nuts and loader mounting bolts. Most were tight but many were not. I have also found a leaking hose and the tired over inflated. Others here have...

    It should not have run

So you know. It had 1.8 hours on it when I got it. I arrived at the dealer and the mechanic was finishing up the 3rd function install. He was running it. When he finished he pulled it up to my trailer and I loaded it. Once at my yard I was the only operator. The fuel water warning light made...

    It should not have run

So I'm using the tractor, it has about 5 hrs on it now. and the water in fuel warning comes on. I shut it down. The next day I get the manual out and grab a clean glass. The separator looks like clean fuel. I drain it into the glass and there is no water. I start to go through the steps and one...

    Operator presence issues?

Today it did it again and because of what "Random" wrote, I paid attention and my foot was touching the treadle pedal. Moved my foot and off it went. So then I duplicated it. So looks like it was the nut behind the wheel.

Engine warning light on low hour tractor?

While I am new to tractors, I am not new to trucks and equipment engine lights. The good thing about them is when scanned they get you close to the problem. So the tractor has recognized a problem. I have never seen a fault code "my driver was mean to me". I have never seen a guy diagnosis a...

    Operator presence issues?

I had just under 3 hours on mine and I had a no crank/no start. I held the key in the crank position and bounced in the seat and it started. It has done this twice. I have not narrowed it down. I am sure the seat switch is the culprit. I thought I read it is only supposed to be dead if the PTO...

    First tractor help

You're going to be very happy with your choice. As for the purchasing part. Try to find out if what you want is in stock. If it's not, you may get frustrated. You can build your kubota on line to get a price baseline. From there have the dealership show you the price. Since it is zero interest...

    First tractor help

If I'm not mistaken all diesel since 2016 are tier 4. HP determine the after treatment system, DPF or DEF etc. I am new to tractors, but not equipment. Smaller may do the job just not as efficient. Let's face it, you can dig a trench with a shovel so the smallest is still faster. Larger comes...

    Its almost here

When I pushed and gave my dealer the drop dead date that I was picking up my tractor, options installed or not, seemed to help. Coincidentally each day he let me know something else came in. I picked up my tractor, the top n tilt kit was not in. I feel my dealer did what he could. As a business...

First two days with my new MX5400

It took several weeks from ordered to delivery. I did some pushing and actually got it with one item still backorder, the top-n-tilt kit. valves and port's are there. Spent time going over fluids, grease and documenting all the factory tags (picture) and numbers. I had to add bushings to the 3...

    Receiver recommendation

Well I played around with the tractor and trailers. I don't think using the FEL is a good option for me because it's difficult to see the trailer coupler from the driver's seat I am leaning towards one for the quick coupler and/or welding the pintle to my box blade. Thanks to this thread, I may...

    Receiver recommendation

You guys gave me a lot of choices I never thought of. Today I am going to line up tractor to trailer at the 3 point and FEL to yan idea of what would be easier. I am also going to measure to see if I can just add it to the box blade.

I can see the problem your talking about. Let me ask, due to your experiences, do you think this will be a problem for empty trailers on flat ground?
