    BX1880 Capability

As far as fuel, my zt does burn more gallons per hour, but it cuts my yard in half the time. I really don't care about the fuel cost, but saving 2 hours for each mowing is priceless.

    LX2610 60" MMM Noise...help?

Noise canceling earbuds and pandora for the win. Won't fix the problem, but if your drinking and mowing, might as well listen to some tunes ;)

Tractor instead of fork lift - newbie

My question was "what are those other uses?" You asked about ballast. If the other uses include maintaining a gravel driveway, then a boxblade would be an obvious choice for ballast. If digging trenches is on the list, the backhoe would work as your ballast if needed. If the other work is...

Tractor instead of fork lift - newbie

Sounds like you've answered enough questions to know that the LX2610 and the L2501 will lift what you need to do easily. Filled tires should be enough ballast for 650 lb loads. I've lifted/carried way more than that with only filled tires and no additional ballast on not so flat gravel...

    Same Container / less product

I didn't get any of those presents :( I do have a backhoe, so she'll likely just use it to get rid of what's left of me for free ;)

    Same Container / less product

Sounds like a simple math problem to me. Your wife says 9 each. I'd counter with ... you get your dozen and the SIL gets 6 ;)

anybody find a brake on notifier?

I've left it on a time or two myself. I have the tilt steering wheel and the lever for it is next to the brake pedals. I'm in the habit of tilting the wheel all the way up to get off the tractor. So when I get back on I automatically hit the tilt pedal, adjust the wheel, then hit the brakes...

    B2601 - Mowing & Weight

If you can afford both, get a ztr and enjoy the extra time on your hands. They say money can't buy time but I say that's BS. I save over an hour and a half on each mowing and I was able to buy it by getting a dedicated mower. That doesn't even account for the time it takes to mount/dismount...

    Stabilize

Right now it seems like the Bro-tek spacers are all out of stock, at least for my tractor. Bora spacers seem to be more available. I'm not in a hurry so I'm hoping Bro-tek gets back to making more. There may be other brands, but those are the 2 I looked into.

Thinking about buying a Z422KW-54 zero turn

I will 2nd that. I went with a 54" deck because I had a few spots where the 60" wouldn't fit. For trees, the ztr sits you lower than your LX so less ducking under limbs when in the trees.

Lifting 5gal cans of diesel fuel a problem

I used a 5 gal jug once, annoying for my back to hold the jug while pouring. I switched to a 2.5 gal VP jug with a curved spout. Works great. When I get too old to lift/pour the 2.5, I'll switch to a 1 gal jug. When I get to weak for the 1 gal jug, I doubt I'll be in any shape to be on the...

Thanks for the heads up, I'll be checking into the I bonds.

    Dry Chemical Fire Extinguishers

I started a thread asking about the element E50. I bought 2 of them and will end up buying 2 more. I keep one on the boat along side the regular extinguisher that came with it. The powder canister types don't last very long on a boat and become useless quickly. The bouncing around compressed...

    LX2610 or LX3310

FWIW, I noticed on some of his videos that Neil Messick has an LX3310 as his personal use tractor. As a guy that has access to every model and has compared models in depth for his vidoes, him choosing the LX3310 is a good indicator that it is a solid choice. I have the 2650 because at the time...

    Concrete Curing?

Depends on the concrete. Did they spray a sealant to cure or are you spraying water several times a day or did they cover with plastic? Or did they just pour and walk away? My recent project I used the 5000 lb quickrete. It gets stronger quicker, but still says 28 days for curing. I went...

    Zero turn to B series

Folks here are probably getting tired of me saying this, but ... "Ferris full suspension ZTR" is the answer if you want a fast professional cut that doesn't beat you up. I mowed my dad's lawn just this week with his BX. Next time I'll take the time to trailer my Ferris over to his place and...

    Zero turn to B series

It will add time to your mowing in that they are slower, but the cut quality with a mmm is very good. I would strongly suggest that if you do invest in a B, get the loader. At the very least it will be the very best wheel barrow you've ever used, but you'd be amazed at how much 'stuff' you can...

HST Owners : On the gas , but having to hit the brake..?

Yep, brakes are on the left side, and mine are linked. I've never had to brake steer so I've never removed the link, it acts like a single brake pedal as is. Pretty handy for most things, and I'm glad it has the ability to split the pedals if needed.
