Its just an idea. If you anchor the front of the loader (by driving some pins into the gravel) would you be able to pull the back of the loader from the front with your tractor. this should lift the back of the loader and allow you to put something under the legs to keep them up. then reverse...

Would it take much to make a kinda stepped cam to fit into a sleeve so that you could make a post driver. you would of course need another swivel ;)

I prefer mounted to trailed. The only downside is that now you can only work in straight lines but you gain so much more maneuverability.

Kept meaning to finish this thread. Hopper was very rusty around the holes. So rather than trying to fabricate metal, I went with filler and metal mesh covered with fiberglass. My theory being that if I can get a couple of years out of it I can buy a new hopper later, if the gearbox lasts...
