Back when I had a riding mower that wasn't orange, I used an AgriFab model 45-0299 48" pull behind aerator. After I bought a BX2370 I decided to convert the wheeled aerator so it would attach to the 3 point hitch. I'm not a welder, so I drew up a design for a local shop to fabricate. The end result is essentially a 3 point frame for the aerator to sit in. Once I got the frame home, I had to totally dismantle the aerator and reassemble it in the new configuration. Works great. Drawings are attached.

Looks like it will be easier to use than the pull behind. What do you think it weighs?

The frame and aerator unit is about 40 lbs, easy to move around and install. Add four cement blocks and it's in the neighborhood of 160lbs. That's enough to cut full plugs in damp soil.

I prefer mounted to trailed. The only downside is that now you can only work in straight lines but you gain so much more maneuverability.

3pt aerators are the way to go. here is my rig, about 325 lbs if drier, I’ll go to 400lbs.

you can see, have wheels spacers too.
