No. The price difference in my location is minimal and not worth the extra distance to drive. If the price difference where you are is substantial then get it.

Thats exactly why I had this made for mine. Now I just adjust the top linkage and use the original gear on my bush hogs.

As stated earlier no cover. Had this problem with a golf cart. Found that if I kept the seat up when parked nothing wanted in. Maybe keep the hood up.
