    Fuel Cans

I don't have any yellow cans, and I hate every CARB compliant can that I've used. I have a blue (kerosene) pre CARB can that I plan on using for diesel, but I wonder if there's something better out there.

Switching to Ag tires from R4 industrial

Going to ag tires might help a little in deep snow, but won't do much for you on packed snow or ice. Chains are going to be your best bet for that. The town that I live in has the lugs siped on the wheel loaders that they use to clear snow. Won't work as well as chains, but that might be another...

Might want to see if you can figure out how the water got in there.

    Driving tractor long distance

When I was in college, a hog confinement operation used to move tractors with honey wagons between farms that were ~120 miles apart. Took all day.

General Question: Why are tractor engines so small?

I sounds like the question you meant to ask is why the tractors don't put out more Hp for their displacement. Tractors are designed to run at WOT for extended periods of time, so you need them to be fuel efficient and durable running wide open. Because of this, they generally run somewhere...

    snow blower without live PTO

I learned to drive on a Farmall H, so I've done the part where you slip the clutch just enough to pop the transmission out of gear. I'll keep looking, but I probably won't mess with it until I get my new place built.

    snow blower without live PTO

The lack of live PTO is way more of a deal breaker for me than being underpowered. From what I've looked up, my low range reverse is 2mph at WOT, which doesn't sound like much, but it will need to crawl pretty slow to make sure that I won't need to clutch it. I would be tempted to try it if I...

    snow blower without live PTO

It's the berm at the end of the driveway that gets you.

    snow blower without live PTO

Kind of what I figured. Looks like the best way to do a blower on this thing is to fab some brackets to put a garden tractor blower on it and run it off the front of the crankshaft. There's a 48" Case Ingersoll for sale, but I'm not really set up to fab much of anything right now.

    snow blower without live PTO

There's a 50" rear mount snow blower for sale locally that I've been thinking about for my L1500DT. It's a farm king Y500. Looking online, the minimum rated hp for it is 15. It doesn't say, but I'd imaging that they're referring to hp at the PTO , not at the flywheel, so I'm already short a...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

When I have a part get away from me, I have better luck listening for where it goes rather than trying to watch.

    Mouse prevention

Bleach and ammonia most certainly do mix. And they produce very nasty vapors when they do.

    3Pt Wood Splitter

If you're rural you could try hitting auctions and machinery boneyards for a pump. I'm not sure of the specs, but some IH Cyclo corn planters were powered with a PTO hydraulic pump as were a number of swing arm haybines. I'm sure that there's other equipment that uses them as well that I'm not...

    Can I rototill this?

Roundup is a contact herbicide and shouldn't hurt the germination if you wait a couple weeks. It should say on the label or you could google it.

If you go to best of craigslist, there's an ad for a camo truck that's pretty good.

    Can I rototill this?

Not if you want to plant it this fall or next spring.

    weights for front of L1500DT

What's everyone using for weights for this, L175's and similar tractors? I've got a King Kutter DS30 that I think might make the front a little light if using it for dirt. Or should I leave them off and keep the bites small? It's been a couple of decades, but I'm pretty sure I can still steer...

    4WD when digging?

I usually use an axe or splitting maul on roots, but I'd probably go sawzall over the chainsaw myself. Even a worn out bar and chain are useful in case you get your good bar pinched and can't get it out.

    B7200DT stripped clutch splines

Some of the folks that work on them a lot may be able to tell you what you're likely to find in there, but you won't know until you get it apart. The center of the clutch disk can tear loose from the rest of it as well. We had that happen on an IH 1600 truck.
