    Impact wrench

Compressor puts out about two and a half cfm at 90 psi. The nuts are an inch and eleven sixteenths holding the blades on a brush hog. At least one spline is stripped

    Impact wrench

I got a Jet JP2000 impact wrench for $60. It's a 3/4 inch drive that's supposed to put out 2000 ft. lbs . I don't currently have an air compressor that will handle it but was wondering if I could get enough time out of it with my 1 hp pancake compressor to loosen a couple nuts given time to...

    attachment advice

The preference for the finish mower would be rear discharge especially if you might let the grass get a little longer. I'd also prefer gage wheels at all 4 corners.

    Pellet gun scope

Spring loaded air guns get the bulk of their recoil from the pistons hitting the end of travel. It's in the opposite direction of the recoil you get from a firearm.

    Potential PTO Shaft Rotation Tool?

I have an over running clutch on my L1500 which turns by hand in the direction of rotation. Otherwise you can bend the implement PTO at the U joint and turn that . Or you can stick something in the U joint and turn it with that. Just be careful not to break anything.

    I had an epiphany

The force creating the moment comes from the bottom of the tire not the axle.

    Farthest You’ve Driven

Wasn't my tractor but I drove a 3588 pulling a liquid manure spreader from Toronto SD to about 10 miles North of Wheaton MN. Probably over 100 miles. Took a wrong turn down a dead end and had to back it up a half mile.

What mistakes we sometimes make as “Noobies” when buying equipment

If you would have grown up putting up 3or 4 thousand squares a year it might have cured you of that...

    2501 acts like brakes on

My understanding is that the gear model L2501 doesn't have live PTO. Your PTO runs off the transmission so when you step on the clutch with the PTO under load the PTO will stop your wheels.

    Brush mower blade replacement

If the spline was holding that plus a little heat might be the ticket. Don't think that a pipe wrench will hold that much torque though. I don't have a torch to cut the nuts off through the access hole. Think I could get in there with an angle grinder if I got the stump jumper off?

    Brush mower blade replacement

You might be right. I think the shoulder is in the blade. So I could cut the head off to get the blade off then cut the shoulder off to get the bolt out. A lot of cutting but should be workable.

    Brush mower blade replacement

That would be my preference but the bolt has a shoulder on it. Cut the head off and the shoulder still holds it (I think) Can't get the angle grinder into the counter bore

    Brush mower blade replacement

I haven't bought parts yet as I want to bring in the old ones but a new bolt and nut kit was part of the plan from the start. Everything I've read or watched recommends it and I would imagine that the spline is broken so I would need to replace it anyway. The bolt has a round head with a round...

    Brush mower blade replacement

To be clear I was trying to get the nut that holds the blade to the stump jumper. I have a 40 inch breaker bar in 3/4 drive. Doesn't seem to be enough.

What's your L-series rear tire pressure?

About 15. I put my heaviest implement on and aired them up until they stopped squatting.

    Brush mower blade replacement

My 48 inch king kutter brush mower needs blades. At least one of the bolts has the spline stripped. There appears to be a shoulder on the bolt so I can't just cut the head off. I'm thinking I need a giant pipe wrench . Is there a better idea?

    L1500 PTO

Your L1500 should have 4 speeds. Mine does anyway . 1st is 540 and that's the one on both your Bush hog and tiller. 4th is 1000 PTO .

    What's wrong with my corn?

Cut worm or root worm of some sort? The good plants seem too close to the bad plants for it to be drainage or nutrients.

    72" brush hog on a L3301

I'm running a 4 footer on my 15 hp L1500. It's certainly underpowered on tall brush but it's about right for grass and weeds. I don't have weight on the front so steering is sketchy in high range anyway.
